In response to the link, it seems like shutterstock takes the cake but I'm just looking more towards dollar figures. Mainly because I'd like to have something to aim for as well as an idea of how much these sites make.

I think you could plan on a total amount across all the micros of between $4.00 - $12.00 / image / year depending on your images.
so if you want to make $10,000 / year you will need between 833 - 2500 images.
