well....there are no images stolen from my port, but there are some stolen images (by other people) from a web forum thread in which I posted a comment, and so my nickname is included in metadata.

The title of the image is exactly the title of the thread.

Clearly unaccettable.

Going here: http://wallpart.com/violation

they say:

"WallPart Respect the copyright of others.
This means we don't steal photos or images that other people share as own.
We don't have a base of images, and don't host or store images on the our servers.
Only Wallpart.com helps users to find images that interest for them, the site uses data of the most known third-party search engines.
The process of the search goes on an user's browser.
Users make search queries by themself, all content displayed in a window of the browser is received from third-party search engines.
Displayed images are loaded from third-party servers, and they aren't hosted on our site.
When the user make the order, we get the image from the user, he is responsibility for use.
Wallpart.com doesn't bear responsibility for the images received from users."

So they move the responsibility to the user of their website - but nowhere on the search there is any indication of that.
Scam!

Apparently they don't host the images themselves (it doesn't look like it), and they have no access to the full sized images. Since they only show thumbnails, I'd like to see them try getting customers by offering low-quality, watermarked poster prints.

they could do another thing , buy photos without extended licence (wich is kind of cheap)and sell a poster with it without watermark. mf's!!

I found a few of mine, but not directly from iStock, they're from sites which (presumably/hopefully) had bought legitimately.
However, there seem to be a lot from Alamy: directly from the site, with the watermark. Like Noedelhap says, can't see the point: customers won't be interested.

they have 21 images from me all with a dreamstime watermark. Impossible to send an "item violation" every time I click send there is an error page message

what do you do to stop this?

This is hard to police - I think they are just basically scraping Google Images results. You can search for literally anything and get results - they're offering to print the results and sent it to you. They say they have 10 billion images, and there's no way this crappy little site stores those.

If the customer is happy with a watermarked thumbnail blown up to poster size, then so be it, I guess. Everything about this is illegal, I'm guessing, but they seem like equal opportunity offenders.

I just checked and found a lot of my photos here to , they all have Dreamstime watermarks although they are also on other sites as well as DT. Im new to the industry and not sure how to deal with this as its the first time i have become aware of my photos being used like this, Is it worth informing DT about this and will they do something about it as if its theft its theft from their site, have so far found 50 plus of my photos before i stopped looking in despair, and a lot of them have had the captions changed into other languages as well

Edit:

Well I have just contacted DT with a link to my DT images on this site and I will let you all know how they reply

Its rather creepy yes, they have photos of mine from DT and SS and I agree, big deal - but they have Pinterest and personal website photos of people with their kids on the beach!

Their copyright protection page is a hoot.
WallPart has proprietary software that allows it to block infringing material once taken down from being "re-posted" by anyone.'
And who might this anyone be posting material on their site?

They also say
We have a shop!

Want to see the posters in person?
We're just around the corner from Newtown station:
921 King St
Newhouse
Tel 2300 751 017

A town or country might have made this a little more convincing but a poster on another forum identified it as being in Sydney, NSW, Australia but no answer on the phone. Anyone here live around the corner?  ;D

I wonder why someone supposedly operating in Australia would would quote US copyright law.

Oh, and surprise, surprise, the website is registered in Kyiv, Ukraine!

The site is a phishing scam, I suggest not searching for yourself and most definitely do not fill out their DMCA form.

that site is ridiculous, first image on the list when I search my name "Chris Gardiner" is a computer screen shot of a before/after photoshop edit from my blog.
they definitely scrape google for the images and have built the site to make the 'previews on the wall' automatically. there is no way someone would decide to take that image.

i don't think anyone anywhere is going to be buying anything from them either, so i'm not too concerned.  they had some of my SS watermarked images, and most of which had "photo credit chris gardiner shutterstockcom" and even the original number intact in file name. one image of mine un watermarked but i think its the preview image from a footage clip on SS as well.

if they were smart, they'd at least run some ads on their site and get a few pennies for impressions from all the photographers checking to see if their stuff is on it.. haha.
