Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has seen a change in their sales since Yuri Arcurs left Shutterstock, Fotolia and Dreamstime to go exclusive with Getty and iStock. It would be intereting to see how it could affect the 3 other top tier sites.

Thanks for your answers! :)

I didn't realise you made directly competing (with Yuri) images.

I removed all my files from IS and FT. Uploaded 300+ new files to SS/DT/123RF. August I had BMEs at all these 3 sites. Was not able to reach overall BME due to the lost of sales from IS & FT. But hey, I am feeling like I'm in the driver's seat, no complains.
p.s. I'm not even remotely compete with Yuri so his move is not relevant.

I'll add some smileys to my comment, maybe that helps.

I did wonder if they should have been there.  ;)

I thought it was clear that it was satire. But all I said is true, except for the Yuri effect.   :o

Every month BME, increasing sales since that announcement. So it's all good with me.

A lot of less blurred and bluish business images

Shutterstock goes from strength to strength and even Fotolia has been good this last month.
However, I doubt that it has anything to do with 'whatshisname' or any of his actions.

What does one with the other has to do? Did you ever made up the numbers? Do you realize how unimportant even a big Contrib like Yuri is when you finally add up the numbers even of a small Site? Or how many image factories are out there who produce exactly the same style like Yuri?

Only thing i've noticed is DT increased the upload limit.

This is like asking "How are your sales since Obama's birthday?" The two things have nothing to do with each other.

As much as Yuri would like to have us think otherwise, he was just a small drop in the huge microstock bucket. His leaving is just not that significant.

That's what it is.. Yuri had no real significance in microstock universe..

I suspect this is due to so many ex-IS exclusives uploading their ports.

I agree with you, except in the case where you were in direct competition with his images in a search.  If his image(s) was in the first spot and hogging all the downloads and is now gone, there may be a little boost to be had, at least for one or two people who get the new top spot.

Four BME's in a row at SS and FT. Whereas DT is flat and IS have been dumped into 4th place.

I'd be prepared to wager my results are nothing to do with Yuri (or indeed myself*) and arise from a combination of half-witted decisions by some agencies and astute, intelligent moves by others.

*Although I have uploaded at a brisk pace in 2013 compared to years 2011/2012

actually sales should be up for all us now that Microsoft purchased Nokia which means they will screw that up as well thus no Nokia photo phone to compete with our dSLRs in the near future  :)

I thought people were allowed to blame Obama for all their problems?  ;)
