Click on the image to go to the download page. On the right there is an "Administration" text link below the middle of the page. Click on that, enter a reason in the box, and then click the "Deactivate" button.

Um, yeah, I understood that. You have to go to the image page. You can't do it from your details page.

Unfortunately you will now have to wait until the scheduled downtime is over.

I did that, did not see anything for deleting or deactivating my image. Just so I am understanding, click on one of the images from the details page right? The same way you would edit an image, change the keywords or categories, correct? Where the heck is the delete button?

It's inside the Administration link (the same place you would go to edit keywords).

No, not the edit page.  The image page.

You must have been posting while I'm typing my posts, because I didn't see your replies until after I posted. Got it, thank you.

I know that it is an old thread.
But today I have tried to delete an image and I did not found the "Desactivate" button
When I click on "Administration" nothing happens…

----
Edit:
I have found that they moved it in an "impossible" place…

Hey iStock! Why to do more simple when you can make more complex?

Indeed, this must be one of their most inexplicable and unintuitive changes to date.

Anyway, since this thread has been revived, it might be worth reiterating that simply deactivating a file from iStock does not automatically delete them from the PP, e.g. Thinkstockphotos and photos.com. You'd need to go through CR to get them off the PP, and that could take some time.

My experience is exactly the opposite.  Images I've deactivated on iStock disappear from Thinkstock within a few days.  On the other hand, removing images from StockXpert has no effect on Thinkstock, or at least it hasn't yet (more than two years later).

Funny, I just deactivated a file today and had to look up the thread where I asked for instructions. They make it very difficult to figure out.

I have NO idea why they moved the Manage Image link to the top of the page adding an extra, unintuitive link to click.

I just double checked to be sure deactivated files aren't there, and I see only 1/5 of my port is on TS, quite a lot of old stuff.

Oh, so Jens's case was aberrant then. Apologies all round.

I'm feeling a bit dumb here, but I can't find the deactivate button anywhere. Can someone help a slightly old and near sighted photographer find it. Speak slowly. Thanks.

If the site was up, you could go to the image page and look at the top left, I think, for the link to manage the image. But an error occurred while processing your request.

That's the same as it was when they were closing down StockXpert and people had the option to remove images. Back then we had to (you'll love this) Give them a list of file numbers to remove. No kidding, that's what the messages said.

I wrote and asked if they could delete everything and must have hit some luck, because everything was removed. Either that or I had so few, it was something that someone could find and do?

Search by your name, copy the file numbers, send a request to IS to have them all deleted. And I think that was one of those, StockXpert is a different division dodges at the time as well.

But bottom line. Self deletion didn't work.

Deactivation of IS files is another issue.

This and the complaints others with invisible partner programs is exactly why we don't need 100 little agencies, doing creative marketing and selling our rights to unknown sources. I know people keep arguing that we need the small ones. I suppose, it generates more traffic here with all the complaints?  ::) Not much else.
