It seens to be getting worse I type in my title, description and keywords in pixvue upload them but the IPTC reader at the microstock site fails to read the information usually 10% or less (so a couple of problem files per uploaded batch).

Strangely enough if a file has problems on one site it usually has problems on another. SPM have the best IPTC reader and SS among the worse for me, maybe it depends on the volume of file being uploaded

I am having problems at SS with my vector file and preview JPEG one frequently gets lost in transfer, which means I have to upload again and again. Did someone mention once you can upload a zip file with both eps and jpeg file together?

During their upgrade at the beginning of March they suspended uploads officially at 123rf now over Easter they seem to have unofficially suspended uploading again, well I am having major grief with their site.

If pixvue isn't getting the job done correctly try doing it in Adobe Bridge or Photoshop. I've never had a problem with any site losing IPTC data using those products.

SS requires the upload of two files at the same time both named the same except for the extension. They don't allow zip as far as I've seen.

I use Adobe Bridge and I've never had a problem with ITPC data at any of the sites.

I'm having problem with CanStock, though nothing changed in my side (I use Exifer and sometimes include or change keywords with Irfanview).  The upload form is not reading anything nor showing a thumbnail.  The "old school uploader" managed to read a couple of the files I submitted, not all.  I sent them a file by email and I'm still waiting for a solution.

Adelaide

Hello,

I´m absolutely new here, but maybe I can help.

I use IrfanView and had the similar problem: The keywords had been cut at several Microstocks to fragments.

After long reading, I found the problem: I edited the keywords separated with comma (xxx, XX, xxx). Some Microstocks understand it and everything is fine, others not.

I did not know yet that the "official way" is to use a new line for every keyword.  Else the software thinks there is only one keyword and cuts it after 64 letters.

Another problem was that not every software recognizes IPTC. I had a no-name software to check some pictures and this software destroyed them.

Best regards
Peter

PS: My English is not the best, but I´m working to improve

Peter,

When I use Irfanview, I don't use commas, but a word in each line.  Exifer and Irfanview work ok for me, except in IS (I reported the problem twice, they never took their time), Gimmestock (who cares?) and recently had problems in CanStockPhoto (who said they're looking into the problem).

Regards,
Adelaide
