Title: IS Sub Averages for Non-Exclusives Only
Post by: Stock Wife on February 22, 2017, 14:02
I have been waiting to upload to IS since the announcement. Now reports are out. What is your average return per subscription

Please post ONLY if you are non-exclusive (different royalty rates will be hard to compare).

Please DO NOT take this thread off-focus. There are dozen of other threads where you can complain about IS, this ridiculous system, and a variety of other things.

My return per subscription was $1.07. I had one giant sale that threw things off so I calculated it without that sale as well. In that case, the return per subscription was $0.37. These numbers are both higher than what I was making per subscription before on IS but I am curious if that is true for everyone.

The charts are so 90's  ;D Never mind, retro is a popular style these days.

Unfortunately my Jan revenue is the lowest in 24 months  :'(

where can you see that?

You need to download your report in txt format, open it in Excel and create a pivot (summary) table of the huge and long table originally provides us.

Just read that Excel Starter doesn't have the pivot creation function :( Sorry, don't know what to suggest. Perhaps download and install a trial version of full Excel to prepare this pivot...

I'd like to answer or help others but ESP made it so impossible. I don't know what's a sub and what's a discount. I had some for 15% of 50 cents for 8 cents, and I'm supposed to dig through this mess, add up all my pages for subs for an average? Is TS a sub for the average, they are all 28 cents. Some were for disabled files on IS, that they disabled.

I can't read this and I think IS wants it that way.

Maybe next month? Instead of what's two month or partial or who knows what mess?

Pivot isn't going to make this readable or useful. Tab delimited only, try that. Good Luck!

It's easy

Open your results CSV file in OpenOffice:

Illustration 1: Sample granular data

Use short cut keys to select all the data (make sure you select just the data not the whole spreadsheet).
    Data->DataPilot->Start
    Ok to using current selection
Wait patiently for some time – you will see the Data Pilot window:
Move the field names to the Rows and Columns as appropriate. Normally you will be putting a numeric value in the data field.
The example below users Academic Year, Year, Month as the column headings for the pivoted table and event type to aggregate values over. The sum of the counts form the data fields.
    Click on the More button
Choose to display “Results to” in a new sheet (if you don't do this, the results will appear below the current sheet. Click Ok.

Illustration 2: Selecting the pivot data

Now the pivot table is there.
Format columns etc to beautify. Select all the columns then
    Format>Column>Width

Illustration 3: Setting the Column Width

Format the left and rightmost columns … and here is the result:

As far as I understand it my average commission per subscription is about 0.28c but  I also had a few very low (0.12, 0.16) ones.

What is the difference between the Istock collection and the Istock essentials collection?

My Subscription RPD is 0.54$

Overall my numbers are up, so I guess it was worth the wait.

People will still be on the old sub packages so the new scheme probably wont make a big difference for a few months.

Good grief.

0.41 for IS subs which is better than expected but we'll see how it goes, a lot of 2cents balanced with some larger ones, biggest $4.

Shocking is right. For the subs question, report is only Jan 1st I won't know until next month. Too many old package and old calculation commissions in the report. Can't start to answer until March 20th if that's like Feb report? Or did the op want before the change, 0ld system?
