I upload to SS, DT, Deposit, Alamy, IS, Adobe.
I seriously hate the upload process for IS and Alamy.  They are the most time consuming.
What are everyone else's thoughts?

IS was by far the most annoying. not anymore. Now it is probably Alamy. The DT automatic categories helps there a lot.

I think Adobe is the most annoying with having to reorder the keywords so that the most important keywords are first. It's extra annoying because even if I have several videos with the exact same keywords, I need to go through and reorder each video separately.

You can copy the re-ordered key words and then paste them into the next one.  But I agree that it's annoying to have to put them in order in the first place.

Odd, I find Alamy a piece of cake. I upload photos, with embedded data, they approve, I select all, if it's a series or set, and hit some stars... done. Anyone who is still trying to please discoverability is driving themselves nuts. Put in what belongs, star some top words for extra weight, and be done.

Yes, to the point that I've stopped uploading there. When I don't earn that bottle of expensive single malt, every year, for doing nothing, maybe I'll wake up and leave their party.

True, the whole process is dead easy and quick, and the site is quite responsive and bug free compared to AS and SS, the only downside being that clicking the next photo adds to selection without holding CTRL.
And I may add that I had maybe max two rejections in my time with them and reviews are quite fast.

I'm trying to figure out why some people don't like Alamy?

I mean compared to others, it's really less complicated and less time consuming, if one has the words and description embedded. Click for property or not, No Release Uploads. In fact submitting is even easier, just upload and wait, then add the details when they are accepted. OK maybe that's part of the problem? Having to go back and do the data, after being accepted, instead of with upload?

Yes, that click just adds is frustrating. Also unclick is one by one, select is one by one. When I do a series, I like to do them all, click the Supertag, and get on with it. I tried holding Shift, doesn't work.

I use the same pseudo for a batch, one click for Illustration or Photo, batch by type of content, I don't even see category, which is one of my least favorite things to add on the other sites, because they are so limited, but we are forced to decide. Oh nice, it's an object?  ;D

Having to go back afterwards is probably the biggest complaint.  It's much smoother if you can get it done all at the same time and not have to remember to go back and finish things up.  But I also wonder if adding all the extra info they ask for is better for sales or not?  I was getting sales when I was doing it, but now that I've neglected many batches, I haven't had a sale in quite awhile.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned DT. Having to click submit on every picture is a PITA. Also BS is a nuisance since they changed the batch edit to replace ALL the information and not just what one enters.

BigStockPhoto. One has to choose each photo separately (if not using FTP) and it changes the language of the site every single time. Grrrrh. If I set English, I want English an English only and not to be reset to different (my native) language each time. The most annoying part is that I have to set English several times when it finally decides to switch to English which was requested long time ago. And when I upload again, English is gone again. At least the sales are not so bad.

Over the last couple of weeks, they've been upgrading the quality 'stars' system. If you've gone up to 5*, your uploads go straight in and you can 'manage' them within a few seconds/minutes.

For me the least favorite for images is currently Shutterstock since they seem to let incompetent people continue reviewing our work. By incompetent I mean either they don't know what the heck they are doing or they do know but just like to play games with us, either way and with all due respect these people should go flip burgers instead.

As for videos I would have to say Shutterstock again since they don't transfer any metadata unlike AS and P5. While I only joined them recently Pond 5 would be my favorite for uploading video. Editing metadata for online clips is also very straightforward.

I don't mind the extra work at Alamy as long as sales are occurring and that is probably why many hate them, more work and no/low sales.
It's a pain though to tag the top keywords with a pen so hopefully they will look into that one day.

I don't have any issues with Adobe either since I keyword in Bridge so the top five keywords are always in front. UL speed also seems faster compared to SS.

I only work with these 4 (used to be more then a dozen) so cannot comment on others.

As a three star, no more show as filled or otherwise, I just can't wait to see if that changes anytime for me. I'll need to be more cautious if that makes a difference. While it's not that critical or important, the waiting and watching 32 images that I uploaded Monday, hanging there in QC, is kind of like wondering, did I pass or fail, when do the grades come out?  ;)

DepositPhotos: buggy web uploader, and their FTP server is completely unsecured (i.e. no FTP over TSL, just plain FTP)

But then they'll be the type to pee and or spit in our burgers. Do you really want that? ???

For me Pond5 - I have not taken my port down but the effort/return ration is higher than any other agency so I have stopped bothering uploading.

SS and BS for the program review.

A lot of stupid duplicate work.

For me it was DT and 123RF, that's why I don't upload to them anymore. BS was VERY buggy and with a lot of problems, so it's a no for me too. iS is a pain in the ass but it works for me so it has to be done :(. So far DP and SS are the easiest.
