does anyone know if it is only shutterstock and istock that accept vectors?, or is there somewhere else as well?
I saw on a dreamstime forum today that dreamstime will accept vectors hoefully by the end of the month.
-
Crestock accept vectors too, this is other reason why i still submit there.

Outside the "big 5", Crestock, as it has been said, Stockphotomedia and Gimmestock accept vectors.

I have ONE vector on Dreamstime and it's my best-seller! It's just a rainbow but I searched and searched for a good one on stock and couldn't find one, so as much as I hated to have to design one for a $25 ad I was designing, I did, and submitted it, and it does very well. More vectors in the future for me. ;D

suwanneeredhead,
I guess leaf was refering to vector files (AI/EPS), not derived JPEGs, which are accepted in many sites (I have a problem with them in StockXpert though, I keep on receiving a "we are not looking for such images now").
I also have a simple sun - my first ever vector image! - which has been selling well at DT (again, as a JPEG).

BTW, this is my best-selling sun:

I don't get why more sited don't accept vectors. I wonder if that is even one of the reasons IS and SS are the two top sellers, is because they accept vectors and no other site does. Are the owners of the other sites idiots or is it just technically really difficult to provide a system for uploading vectors? I don't get it.

I guess you're right... I didn't realize they didn't take the actual vector file. Duh! Have you submitted that to iStock? I know as a designer I have purchased several vector files from them.

suwanneeredhead,
I failed my first application as a illustrator in IS, so I'm working in more detailed images before reapplying. This particular image was done in Canvas 8 and I know its translation to EPS isn't good. I've also learnt many tricks since I've started using AI and I think, given the good results of this image, that I should make a new and improved version of it.

Interesting... I'm working on a regional map right now in AI so as much as I'd like to, I don't have the time to mess around with iStock's application. Let us know how it goes! Good luck!

123RF has just began accepting EPS files. I wonder if existing raster ones can be substituted by their original vector files.
