If we consider that Shutterstock keeps 1st place, Fotolia - 2nd, who's your 3rd top earner among Big 4 or probably among middle tier too? I mean recently: during 2016 and in the beginning of this new year, not during your whole life-long stock career. And we are not talking about exclusive authors - only for non-exclusives.

Thank you!

Well, if you go by the chart on the right, Shutterstock was first, iStock was second and Fotolia was third. That's the average general consensus between everyone who bothers to fill out the survey, anyway... so I'm not sure if this thread is going to shed any more light on that. But hey ho!

Keep in mind, there will be a decent portion of people for who Shutterstock isn't 1st place and Fotolia isn't 2nd. Like me for example! My first place is Envato, second is Videoblocks, third is Pond 5, Shutterstock 4th and iStock 5th.

Not sure. I really still have no idea what I made at iStock last month. Although, one and two might not be true either. So... basically my opinion probably isn't relevant at all. :D

Your list isn't inclusive enough.

Thanks everyone! I was thinking that it would be interesting to find out what stock brings more money to photographers recently (not videographers) along with Shutterstock and Fotolia. Microstock Poll Results in the right column are not much relevant because of "iStock exclusive" on the second place - I don't want to consider exclusive contributors at all.

iStock is second (41.8). iStock Exclusive is first (188.6). If you ignore exclusives, iStock is still second! You might want to update your original post to say that it's just for photographers, or you'll get skewed results.

Apparently an '8' followed by a ')' creates a smiley wearing sunglasses. What's the world coming to?!

Alamy is my 3rd earner, why it is not in the poll?

1. If you want only 'photographers only' to reply, your title should reflect that.
2. iS / indie is showing as second place as already pointed out.

However, the poll on the right includes sales of all categories: vector, still photo, video, audio etc. Meaning they reflect the total of what people get from any media they submit, you have no way of separating out stills only submitters. Some of the agencies will only accept one or a few of the media types; some submitters will only send certain filetypes to certain agencies; some submittors only submit to a few agencies; a very few (if any) may submit to all agencies.

Ok, I updated the original vote and made it more specific.

Ok, I updated the original vote and made it more specific.

You should change the poll question to: who's your third biggest earner?

After SS and FT for me is 123RF (closely followed by DT).
About iS I have no idea, and I stopped uploading there since summer of last year.

I only use IS when I have problems with my too low blood-pressure, I just read one of their e-mails, and I am as good as new : ;D

View results shows nothing and I can't answer because I'm not a vector artist. I would like to read that.
