I think that myloupe is a good alternative to alamy (although I like alamy as well) just considering interface and submission process.  It has the potential of becoming the American Alamy... and its not very massive at the moment.  Perhaps its good time to submit images there.

I have about 30 images there - in The Stock Solution rather, a partner - some as RF, some as RM.  Unfortunately I haven't sold any yet.  Uploading is easy.  Requests are not plenty, but happen.

I've been there a year, and sold one image so far, with around 300 images online. I believe there may be a long term potential, so I'm staying, and increasing the number of images. Very friendly place, but they have some quirky upload limits, like not bigger than 3900px.

i have been there 2 years now.  No sales but I only have 50 some pictures there.

Perhaps it is time to give them another chance, but i haven't been to persuaded that i will be paid for my efforts.  On a side note however, they also have requests (from time to time) like photographers direct has.

In what sense do you not think you'll be paid?  That's an interesting statement....

I was meaning not getting paid, in referring to not ever getting sales there.

and I keep hoping the owner corrects IPTC as he mis-spelt all as ITPC.  Emailed him but never heard back.  Poor show.

I just got my application rejected from MyLoupe, because I'm a micropayment contributor!! even though I found the same images at MyLoupe & Shutterstock from a high profile successful Photographer.

I made the mistake of giving my Shutterstock portfolio link as an example of my work. I should have just uploaded some example shots direct to their website.

This is the rejection email:

Thank you for your interest in myLoupe.  Your work has merit.  However myLoupe
does not use the micropayment pricing model and there is a fundamental
incompatibility between our pricing and micropayment pricing used where your
work is now represented. We could not in good conscience ask our clients pay
hundreds of dollars for images that might be obtained elsewhere for only a few
dollars.

We wish you success in your endeavors.

 Sincere Regards,

I  then found in under two minutes, the same photo on MyLoupe & Shutterstock  ???

Photoguy - why dont you reply that the photos you will upload will be different and the the goal of uploading to myloupe is to move away from microstock when it becomes economically viable.  (ie. are they fundimentally opposed to it or just opposed for the same images?)

Is the submitting requirements different to Alamy (I have heard that if you do one, you may as well do the other).  If I eventually get around to doing Alamy, it would be handy to be able to uplaod the same to myloupe.

I replied that I was looking for an outlet to build a RM portfolio, but have not heard back..........I don't really expect to either as I sent back a rude email.

You aren't the first person I've heard this from.  You won't get a reply back from them.  :)

A big oops!!!  Yeah, but the email they've send you seems like a template, so I don't think you are the first one.  On the other hand, quite a few photographers do both, microstock (RF) and RM.  I think that their fear is that you would upload your shutterstock stuff on their website and sell it as RM.  Alamy addresses this concern by asking contributors not to do that.... I would not send them a rude email, but one that outlines the lack of logic in their response.  They question your integrity prior to having any negative experiences with you. I am sure that more than 90 percent of the MyLoupe contributors also do microstock.

MyLoupe rejected me too, I uploaded some sample pics, one of my best penguin pics with some other work. Apparently they didn't like it.. However not a big loss for me when I hear about the earnings potential. Saves me some work..

I am a contributor to The Stock Solution, MyLoupe's partner.  The stuff I have there is not the same I have in microstock, though there are a couple of images from the same series.  It is my own policy, to begin with, as it doesn't make sense to the same images in both places (even though some usage restrictions may justify part of the price difference).

Photoguy,

Not to offend you, how can you expect them to see from your application that you plan to offer something different than you have in microstock sites?  You should have shown them something else.  Having people selling the same image in macro and microstock is not a reason to expect this to be acceptable.  If this was a written policy (I don't know about MyLoupe, but in Photographers Direct it is), then these contributors are breaking an agreement.

Adelaide

I think in general it is not a good strategy to send a portofolio link of another stock website (RM or RF).  Perhaps, you should considering selecting 10 images and keeping them aside as your portofolio.  If I were you, I would resubmit individual images for their inspection.  Personally, I don't feel bad about selling RF stuff on different sites, but when someone puts out 500 bucks for usage rights, you could see why it would be a problem if they suddenly find their image in istock's dollar bin.  I wish you all the luck; I would try to contact them and resubmit a different portofolio.  Although, I never had a sale there and I am not quite sure, at this point, if its worth the hassle.

They are a total waste of time.  I have around 400 images there that have sold many times elsewhere and zip at ML.  I participate in a forum where there are at least 15 people submiting there and the most successful one has sold two images.  They keep sending strange and worthless requests and the quarterly report is filled of vague "we had record sales" or "we surpassed the previous quarter" but with little or no numbers at all.  Consider yourself lucky if they rejected you on whatever reasons, the have just saved you a lot of precious time!
