I  needed  a  very  short  tripod  but  all  i  had  were  too  long.  Improvise  -  a  roll  of  bathroom  paper  served  the  purpose.  Anybody  else  got  a  quick  fix   when  you  don't  have  exactly  what  you  need?

What? For when you don't have a tripod - of for when you don't have any bathroom paper?

For a tripod I sometimes use my camera bag, but if I'm shooting wide and low have even used the toe of my boot. A friend uses one of those inflatable pillows for use on long flights...it folds down flat but you have to blow it up for use. Too much of a chore for me.

The folding silver sunshades that you put in your car windscreen are some of the best and cheapest reflectors you can buy.

You might already own something. Those Beanie Babies that everyone thought were collectible, but you can buy for 50c now.  :o

Bean Bag.

My better half has a weird squishy thing, like a bean bag but squishier. No idea what's in it, but very handy for putting a camera on :)

Ooh Ooh, I want a Photo Squishy Thing!  8)

That way the people who know that I'm cutting up Beanie Babies to make a photo bean bag, won't yell at me. Allergy free, bean free, water resistant, nice weight...
