I have submitted some "fine art" work to companies that specialise in cards, posters etc but with no experience in this field I'm confused about their royalties. Anyone have any experience? Eg. one company states royalty will be 10% of the wholesale print price on anything from a framed wall image to large-scale canvass pieces for offices and business premises. Another I'm waiting to hear from will pay $350 for three year world rights (greetings cards).

On the face of it the 10% royalty on the sale of a massive canvass print for an office foyer (assuming its per sale) sounds better than giving away rights for $350. But in the absence of understanding I'm reaching out here.

Cheers,

I don't know that, in the sites I am it's either a % of the sale (like Zazzle - I'm not sure we get the commission if someone purchases also a frame with the print) or a fixed $ markup.

I have little in the print/poster field, with very rare sales, but I know many people that do well in Fine Art America and RedBubble.
