Editorial or not ?

(1/1)

Thomas from France:
Hello everyone,

I 'm just back from Seoul, South Korea with many pictures to process. Most of them portrays urban way of life of this part of the world  with people, lighting neons with brands, skyscrapers, cars, etc...

When i take a look to these kinds of photographs on SS site, i see lot of them licensed for commercial use and some others marked as editorial

I was wondering which way to go in this case : commercial or editorial ?

dpimborough:
Ignore what you see on SS Thomas just follow the guidelines, any identifiable people, brands, logos, license plates then its editorial.

Same goes for shots of buildings if the building is the primary focus unless its an old historic building

The only things Shutterstock reviewers are stricter on now are releases and the need to be Editorial. Lots of old stuff on the site that wouldn't pass now....judging by the trend there's a good chance in 5 years you won't be able to post up almost any building...or models with clothes.

Thomas from France:
Thanks for you answers...let’s go for editorial.
