I know stock is a 365 day enterprise but I'm curious about other photographer's and their preferences when it comes to seasons. My preference is September through to December. I find the autumn colours drive me out into the streets and woods. A blue sky seems more vivid (less haze I suppose). The low sunlight really zings in the city or the country and I don't have to get up at stupid o'clock to catch the light.

Plus I can wear a big coat with pockets for extra gear and a hat which makes me feel less conspicuous for street/editorial work. (Tried a false beard but that made me look weird).

Be interested to know if you have a preference.

I like early spring, when the world is just waking up from the winter snooze. The light is clear and the blue skies are welcome after a winter in rainy England.

I know what you mean about the beard. It looks even more weird on a woman, I nearly got arrested.  ;D ;)

I love the fall, as it gets rainy and nasty, and I can make less excuses of staying in my studio instead of going outside.

Never tried a beard, but I nearly got arrested with my cane and camera.  I guess a greying 40+ woman with a cane is extremely suspicious and threatening, lol!

I live in southern California.
We don't have seasons.
As long as it's not raining, there is little excuse not to go out and shoot!

FALL!!!!!!!    I love the fall!!   Everything about it....  I live in NE U.S.  where we have a particularly lovely fall.  I'll be heading up to Maine/NH and the ADK of NY state in just a couple weeks and I'll be spending 1/2 my time taking copious pictures and the other 1/2 just sitting on my rump out on the trail gazing at the beauty of natures color.
My perfect year?   Two weeks of spring when the flowers pop, one month of winter WITH lotsa snow,  three months of rainless summer and the rest of the year with fall in full bloom!!  Where, can I find that?  8)=tom

I like Autumn (Fall)
But I always find it difficult enough to get decent images of Fall subjects.

Personally I love summer, but for shooting I like early fall more, because of colors, more blue sky and cropped vegetables and fruit.

It's very similar here in Northern California as well. Last weekend we actually had some clouds after a long while and I enjoyed taking pictures with cloudy skies.
