Hi all,
A friend of mine has Canon S90 and just after the long weekend  trip, he came home and lost all the images on his memory card. When he inserts his card in camera or computer it just reads "memory card error".
Does anybody has experience something like this, I guess that Canon S90 uses SD card?
With my cards, CF cards usually come RescuePro Disk. Is there something that he can download or buy to fix this problem?

Thank you

Wouldn't your's work for his disk? You might want to try it or let him borrow your software.

Yes I found a couple of free ones, that will find data even after a card has been formatted. Try a card reader, not the camera. Try your RescuePro. If you can't get it, drop me a PM I'll send the link or the software. It's on the laptop and I won't be on anything but the desktop until Thursday... UNLESS  :) you need help and the file before that.

I did the stupid move on the 9th. Copied all my files to the hard drive and to the external drive and on Sunday started formatting cards so they would be clean for the next race weekend. Then while I was editing I discovered that being tired on Sat. (or was it Friday?) I hadn't copied the files from one race group, to anything. My usual recovery tools didn't do it. Undelete was useless and the final answer was one that took over and hour, maybe two hours, but not only found the missing files, but pictures from September 2010, which were still viable after the card had been formatted, and used more than twice! Amazing!

If you know me now, it was FREE!  ;D (took a bunch of searching to find one that actually works. Many claim, few did more than produce minimal results) The usual, free until you actually try to save the pictures, then they have a fee of $39 to activate the demo. The one I found is honestly free and honestly recovers all the old data that's possible, bit by bit. Here's the interesting part, unlike those that work on all kinds of drives and data, this one only words on memory cards. Fine with me!
