Did I learn anything from it? No. And I don't believe the story about the professional photographer who had only eight plates to use in six weeks in 1939. At that time German companies like Zeiss Ikon, Balda, Welta and Agfa were mass producing cameras for the amateur market (not to mention Rolleiflexes) - and yet a professional had only one roll for six weeks of important work?

I read this article a little earlier and thought it was a good article, in terms of milestones for the digital camera era.

The one point I noticed, which I entirely agree with, is a quote toward the end of the article. I have pasted a section of it below.

"Everyone now is a photographer. Everyone now likes to record everything endlessly." There is a huge contrast, he suggests, between that and the distinguished female photographer he's friends with who takes very few photographs but with huge care.

"Photography has become so easy meaning that people don't really think a photo has any intrinsic value. And what concerns me most is that photographers as a profession are being decimated by online theft."

Of course, it's easy to counter that this is more about the internet than digital cameras and is hardly restricted to photography.

I agree with that quote also and about the guy in Germany. I believe it. I fondly remember  a teacher in the AV dept in Jr High in 1957 Gave me a 4 x 5 speed Graphic and 2 Holders, Thats 4 shots and 4 Big Old flashbulbs you have to stick in your mouth to get them wet or they wouldn't fire and he said there ya go kid, Go cover the football game. I had 4 shots and Probably instilled in my head to get it right in Camera. I really enjoy digital But Honestly I think it has made for a lot of Lazy Photographers. The fix it later group. But, it's all good I guess.

Shame about Kodak.
