Title: Have you noticed this since now?
Post by: borg on August 18, 2009, 14:07
When sales are going well on the SS, on the other agencies usually is very slow, but when  goes well  on  IS, DT, FT, etc., then on the SS is pretty bad ...

Similar experience....?

Hmm... just looked over my daily results and don't see it.

What's your portfolio size?  I'm guessing the larger it is, the less likely you'll notice wild swings, unless they're tied to something hitting the whole market like a holiday, summer, etc... but those would hit all the sites, not just certain ones.

My port is about 546 pics, so I'm getting the typical predictably unpredictable fluxuations you'd expect of a smallish portfolio.  Hoping the downturn I've seen across all sites over the past month or so is just the summer slump.  August has been especially lousy (down about 20% from July)... someone mentioned that much of Europe takes most of the month off.  I recently discovered that my Shutterstock downloads were about 35% US and 65% outside US, so this might make sense.

How did you determine where you sales are coming from?

To the OP, there has been a slight downturn for me, but nothing out of the ordinary for August.

Thanks, Steve.  Had no idea they added that.  My revenue is 36% US / 64% non.

(Recalculation based on ELs deleted; these number are from July, the ELs are August.  D'oh!)

Interesting statistics from SS. I'm from the US and last month had 64% of downloads from US and 36% from non US sources.

Gross earnings for me do not show any data like that. Is it because I'm from the US? I see that epantha has this info. Am I missing something?

I don't have a "Click for Details" link or a "+" sign on my Details page.

Oh OK. Thanks sc. Now I see the two columns there. They are just empty for my previous payouts. I guess my next payout will have that info.

I use a service that tracks my stats at 10+ agencies. I have noticed that sales average the same but you are right, they fluctuate between agencies. When SS is really down, others go way up, keeping about the same leverage. I wonder if it's the same core of buyers shifting their purchasing or just a fluke.

How cool!  Thanks for the tip Steve :D

Just checked.  I am in the US, so I am surprised to see that 57% of my sales are outside US, vs. 43% US sales.

I'm in Europe and only 18% of my earnings are sourced in the US.

Thank God that I am not alone!!!

I'm in the same boat.  Can someone tell us if they are getting the source data in the stats for previous payouts?

thanks.

Not that I can see.

I can see the previous payouts with the boxes for Details, Type, Gross, US Source, Non US Source, Total Withheld,  Net, Payout Method, Date. Only the last three have data. So I'll assume that next payout, they will have data. Nice!
