I will have a look at ehow.  There are some other similar ones that I came across.  Haven't tried any of these but would be interested to know if anyone uses them.

If you want to get paid to write, the best site IMHO is constant content. You set a price and people looking for content will buy it.

Roughly, what are the rules about people using the article?  Or is it like RF?

How is this better than having your own blog?

That's a good question and I hope someone with more experience than me can answer.  My own blog doesn't have much traffic and wont generate much income.  I was hoping some of these sites might be a better option.  I also make a blog for a specific subject, I can write an article about anything with these sites.

Yeah, I've got an eHow account too. http://www.ehow.com/members/dbvirago.html?view=3rd

Probably one of the best for residual income. Different model and it takes a little work to maximize, but it's pretty easy to write there.

I joined eHow but looks like I will have to wait for them to allow UK contributors to get paid.

I like listening to music with spotify while editing photos, so I did a hub about playlists.

A music play list for Spotify and other music streaming sites.

Made my first 0.01 with hubpages :)  There is an interesting thread in the forum where some people say how much they earned in February.  Some of these might be working long hours but there could be potential there.

I haven't had the time to do much with hubpages.  Will try their 30 hubs in 30 day challenge in the winter and see how it goes.

Take a look:

I have been on Hubpages for 6 weeks now, mostly to share my travel experience with my photos. My hubs have been read over 3000 times, not sure if it's good not not. I made $10 in the first month, definitely not a lot of money. You need your readers to click on the advertising links to make you money, and not just enjoy your hubs. I am just testing the water.

Just published this one last night, take a look if you like:http://hubpages.com/hub/Hidden-Landscape-Treasures-In-Lake-Huron.
I think this is the referral link, but not sure because no one has signed up because of me yet. http://hubpages.com/my/tracker/2oc3u157inb7c

Forget all that crap. Make your own site on Wordpress (free) and sign up for a Google Ads account. If your content is good, you won't need those "passive income" sharks that make ten times the money you could earn ever with those morons.

I am not on WorldPress, but if it relies on Google Adsense, it's the same idea. Hubpages also makes money from Google Adsense. You need the readers to click on your link though. If no click, no money no matter how good your writing is.

Have a look in the hubpages forums.  There are people making money there and they aren't all making hubs about making money on the internet.  How would I get as much traffic and good search placement with my own blog?

Most people make money by selling procuts and books. For instance, if I write about Toronto, I can list a few Amazon travel books on the topic. If I write about computer, I can link a few Amazon sellers too.

I am not good at selling things. I just treat this like Flickrs, with the added bonus that I may make a few dollars there while sharing with friends. I am also toying with the idea that if it is possible that people may buy photo prints from me through my hubs. Haven't sold any, and just have to wait and see.

You can make money from hubpages using a huge number of other ways, it is not just the adsense and amazon links they make available on the site.

Your post and article can include a link to almost anything you like,  so people use it to see products from other affiliates, or to promote their own website or products.

The main benefit, as said before, is that it is quick and free, and the traffic and search ranking is likely to be a lot better than your own blog would be.
