Rejected: overly saturated, visible artifacts and focus is not located where we feel it's best.  ;)

Nice images.

I'm trying to do artsy stuff but always get discouraged because they don't live up to SS or IS standards.  >:(

Is it "imagination" or "talent?"
"both?"   ;D

By the way -- it is impossible to record images like that.  Unbelievable. :P

easy to answer: hundreds, maybe thousands hours of hard work...

It would be intereting to know his camera, ISO, apertures and shutter speeds.

It would be intereting to know his camera, ISO, apertures and shutter speeds.

And even more interesting to know the post-processing applications he uses :)

I've got a feeling they're not jpgs straight from the camera

I totally agree, I'm a fan and after surfing for 25 years I know how hard it would be to get these photos.
It would be bit easier in Hawaii then around here but lots of time swimming and getting pounded.

Definitely ,  Qwerty , he might have working on it very gently. It is really difficult to develop such shots .

Somehow I doubt that the magic ingredient in his work is gear or settings. ;)

this is how he do it
http://youtu.be/i6oe0LMDBTE (http://youtu.be/i6oe0LMDBTE)

The things race drivers do to win,
the things soldiers do to survive,
the things leaders do for their people and then,
there are things photographers do for their photos
AMAZING!
