I love this place!

Now that my emotions are in check, "LOL" I feel I would love to request some feedback.
I selected "opt out" on all of my accounts for API except Fotolia, which doesn't offer that option.

However, I do use Alamy for what I consider my exclusive RM's even though I do not list them as exclusive and I did Opt in on YaY to Alamy for my RF. These are the ONLY 2 I have connected in any way.

Am I stabbing my own self in the $$$ foot by opting out? Lets face it - we're all in this for the income, be it part-time or full-time.

Your thoughts?

Being in control of your IP can only be a good thing. Much better to upload direct and get a higher royalty.

Is there a reason you wouldn't opt out of the Yay deal and upload your RF directly to Alamy and keep all your commission? (other than time)

I will be using Alamy specifically for Editorial and/or specific images/sets I may select. Pretty much as an exclusive/without the exclusivity.  :)

Fair enough, that's what I do with RM; but still, you say you have opted your RF into Alamy via Yay, unless I've misunderstood. Doesn't that mean Yay would eat into some of the commission you'd earn from RF commissions at Alamy?

True. But I would like to think my approach to Alamy is one of  a stock agency and not a microstock agency.

Am I totally missing something?
You have RF images on Yay and you are allowing Yay to put your micro RF on Alamy?
Have I got that part right or wrong?
The only possible logic I can see to that is that you're willing for Yay to collect part of your commission in return for saving you time in the admittedly extremely tedious upload process at Alamy.
H*ck, you can even use a totally different pseudonym for your RF work if you so choose.

Maybe this will explain it better.

I tried to take the insanely ever changing list that sadstock has so graciously listed for us and I try to list all of my RL, RM and editorial's in such a way that it does not step on itself. I am in 8 agencies, not counting Alamy. In this case - YaY gets my RL's on Alamy, while I manage to keep my CDO (thats OCD in alphabetical order) brain happy with a warm, comfy home for my RM's and Editorials. :)
