Our power just went out for 5 minutes and yes, a user of computers since the original AT's 1982/83, got lost in my work and forgot to save.

Photoshop CS6 apparently does have a auto save function now, but no version before that. I Googled around and found this little article and link to freeware software that help you auto save Photoshop.

Have not tried it yet (first want to catch up on my lost work), but just thought I will post if someone else is also interested (PS Note the Windows 7 link).

And next a feature that prevents someone from saving over the original after the first save. I've clicked "always ask" in the options, and it still doesn't.

So when someone installs the auto save, it's going to save with the original file name overwriting everything that's loaded.

Reminder, always rename your work, before you start editing.

Thanks for the warning Pete. How does it perform otherwise?

I'm not using it, I was just pointing out that for the benefits of not forgetting to save or if the computer crashes or something else, theree's also a downside if someone doesn't pay attention. So either way, nothing is perfect.  :)
