just curious what people think an average RPI is these days for microstock.
Not long ago it was $1 per month for me but it has dropped to less than half that now.
so RPI 6   - $6 per image per year
I can see it is dropping for most people but I haven't seen any recent threads.
cheers

Couple years ago averaged $2.20 - 2.55/ rpi per month.  These days more like $1.10 - 1.25.  Lots of factors in play.  Among those is that  as your port grows your sales gets dituted and rpi goes down.  Not that mismanagement of some websites and overall growth in  libraries aren't factors too.

On your question about macros, I can't help there.  Nothing in macro.

RPI peaked about 2007, with a rapid decline in 2008-2009, since then a more steady decline.

I used have $10+/month back in the day, now very similar to PixelBytes at just above $1, and it's still going down.

My RPI peaked in 2010 at iStock (exclusive) at 1.45 / month. This January was $0.19. Off by almost a factor of 10. Ugly!

RPI is a tough thing to use as a comparison tool. I could make my RPI look much better by simply deleting files that haven't sold in a while. The RPI calculation would instantly go up. Future total sales would likely drop on the smaller portfolio where the occasional selling file would not exist and not sell.

Yeah it's the worst comparison tool, apart from all the other ones.

Mine peaked at about 7$ a month in 2010 and is now at just over a $ a month and has been even lower last year.  Earnings are currently about a half what they were in 2010.

I'm surprised the average so far is still as high as it it is for many.
It seems like $1 per image per month is still doable?  Even with millions of
Images out there.
Thats not bad if it's an average.  Im sure plenty of people are doing much less as there niches's get flooded or their port gets buried.
Higher than i thought so far
