So sorry to read that my favourite photographer (by a country mile) and all round fantastic guy, Sebastião Salgado, has died.

What is there to be sad about? He can only be congratulated, not everyone is given the chance to live to 81. Many die before they even reach 60. A person who dies at his age is a lucky person who got lucky.
As for his contribution to photography, I believe that he did not cover the third world war, the hot phase of which has been going on in Ukraine since 2014. Where was he with his camera all these years? Where?
He photographed the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, but for some reason decided to ignore and pass by the genocide in Ukraine.
Therefore, I believe that he lived the last 11 years of his life in vain. And did not give the world what he was destined for.

Concealment and non-documentation of war crimes and genocide of Russian orcs, Na.zis, the DPRK, China, Iran and Belarus is assistance to terrorists.
Salgado was a leftist with socialist convictions. He never condemned the crimes of the Russians anywhere.

I agree with you. A fantastic person with the talent to tell a whole story with a single picture. I myself own the illustrated books Amazonia and Exodus. If you don't know him yet, you should take a look at his pictures.
I find it all the more disgusting and disrespectful that once again a certain person is exploiting every topic for political propaganda.

I apologize, of course, but who are you writing to? If I follow your logic, then the thought arises to advise you to look at the paintings that Hitler painted. They say he painted very well with watercolors. He was a good painter. Of course, such comparisons are very conditional, but they have a right to exist.

Thank-you Shady. I totally agree with you. Salgado's powerful imagery has always been an inspiration for me and many others. Salgado has passed away but his stunning b/w photos and legacy will live forever on....

"Look how beautiful misery is, and how well it pays, my models did it for free. And I had business with Hennessy champaign in 2016" ::)
