Paris 26 Gigapixels is a stitching of 2346 single photos showing a very high-resolution panoramic view of the French capital (354159x75570 px). Dive into the image and visit Paris like never before!

These gigapixel panoramas are nice but you're restrained to one angle.
Here's a project I think is a lot more useful.

I think it defaults in Bucharest, but there's a lot of Romanian cities covered and a bunch more from central europe and eastern europe.

I've been following the progression of this remarkable gigapan project for awhile.  I contribute to gigapan.org and use the same autopano pro software that was used in the stitching of the Paris image (my images dont go much over 1 gigapixel though).  I do some stuff for tourism purposes for my hometown as its fun for potential visitors to have a virtual look around.

rejected: oversharpened, overfiltered, fringing :)

been watching the gigapan pro and see through the autopano forum some other options that I'll explore later in the year.  Market potential for large pans (not this extreme) is what I wonder about though?? (obviously not microstock)
