These big lorries which take eight or ten cars at a time, usually on two stories, e.g. from the factory to the showroom.
I thought they were 'car transporters', but a search on 'car transporter' on both iSt and SS throws up some of these, but an awful lot of other stuff.
So what do you call these car carrier thingys? Tx.

Can't really help - I call them car transporters and it seems like the manufacturers call them that too.
Searching iS with "trailer car transporter" on best match seems to up the hit rate but there's still plenty of non-specific artics/semis in there.

'Car carrier' perhaps. Only 17 pages of them!
I used to think that SS search was pretty good but seeing 1500 pages of 'car transporter' or 700 pages of 'auto transporter' containing so many images that are irrelevant, has cooled my enthusiasm.

In America: Car carrier tractor

The terms 'transporter' or 'carrier' are accurate but unfortunately SS's system automatically simplifies or groups certain words into common terms. In this case I think 'transporter' is being simplified to the more general term 'transport'. Adding additional search words such as truck, lorry or delivery should help to reduce the irrelevant results.

I am not a good english speaker, but what do you think about "double-deck truck" or "Double Deck Car Carrier/Trailer"?

Being an Auto tech that worked for years at a dealership these are called just that "transporters" or "carriers".
You can use carrier, big rig, tractor trailers, semi, cab, cab over, hauler, hauler, new car carrier, new car hauler, new car transporter, car carrier, car hauler, car transporter. 18 wheeler, eighteen wheeler.

There are more keyword search issues at Shutterstock, try looking for someone sanding woodwork. Just search for sanding, thousands of pages for sand and beaches but hardly anyone actually sanding something.

Thanks. I've not been there a year yet but never thought to look when I started. I just had some sort of (probably erroneous) impression that the SS search was good (many X better than FT anyway). Now it doesn't seem to be so good.....condensing words like 'transporter' to anything with 'transport' in the keywords makes it a pain to wrestle through the search.

Yeah their search has deteriorated a lot recently. Can't imagine the frustration buyers are seeing when they search for something and a lot of the stuff that's shown isn't at all what they were looking for. The exclude keywords box can get filled out really quickly so those images you don't want don't get shown.
