nah, I think they're just displaying examples of new features, like they did with content-aware rescaling.

The technology is new in photoshop but its certainly not new in research circles, so that makes you wonder how much
those watermarks have been holding. I guess they should put a few forensics algos in photoshop now, or we'll all be
using errorlevelanalysis.com soon...

As far back as Version 5 there's been a healthy debate about whether it's worth it or not to upgrade. IMHO it always has and will also be this time. What's the alternative?
I often speak to other photographers who still use V6 or V7 and who are oblivious to the time saving and really fun features we enjoy daily.

I'll believe it when I can actually see the pixels of the results.  Tell me the blades of grass match up, or the noise in the sky blends, etc. and then I'll think about an upgrade.

I am most interested in that fill feature for my landscape photography, not just for stock. I'm also sure that I will need to "touch up" details. But for me, that fill feature would be worth the upgrade just for the landscape side of my business.

Yap Im thinking the same , if i had to bet I would put my money that removing large objects will leave problematic areas fully visible at 100% of large photos , that it will leave some kind or too regular background patterns
that will not look natural (like on grass ) , so after u use that u will need additional work with clone and heal brushes , the question is only how much work.  The good things it that the new tool will probably give
way better starting point and save some time , especially on simple backgrounds like clear sky etc ..

for home / non commercial use, I'd probably alternate upgrades.
But in each version there is a few things that I really quickly get used to (like masking options, click on image and adjust curves etc etc in cs4) and think it is worth the upgrade for those few little extras (Just bought cs4 at work this week (gee that was well timed because cs3 at work and cs4 at home was annoying when missing those little cs4 things)

I don't need this... I am photographer and not designer... I do all my stuff in RAW processing and after that all my images get accepted ;-)

Well... For some cloning out which might be needed sometimes, GIMP is more than enough for the money it costs!
