In the past 2 weeks I've had two rejections for "Logo/Branding" that are totally unwarranted.  They sent me a email about the 1st one saying the had a new reviewer "cutting teeth".  Well it happened again yesterday.  Yet another "Logo/Branding" rejection.  I sent them a email asking for them to point out the Logo or Branding because I can't find it to save my life.  I also stated that I would stop uploading if the stupid pointless rejections didn't stop.  Given my sales there it really wouldn't hurt me at all to close my account at 123RF anyway.

Anyone else had this type of rejection in the past few weeks?

No, not yet anyway.  What were the pictures of?  Can you link to a copy at a site where it was accepted?

I've found that they are a lot tougher on logos than any other site I upload to.  I have had buttons with blurred writing and other barely visible logos refused after being accepted at all the other major sites.
I just fix it and re-upload and they get accepted with no problem.  That's the only reason they have ever refused my images so they are quite lenient in other respects.

I agree, however, I can't seem to find what they are talking about.  That's the part that gets me!

123 rejections are rare. Have you submitted the same images to other sites ?

I dont know!

My first load of pics are pending after more than three weeks, since that some of them have been accepted at IS, FT, DT and some other small sites.

They reject my 50 images because of "logo/branging", but nowhere logo can be seen... crazy!

I never had this type of rejection, but then I don't upload much.

I recently had a logo rejection as well as 4 copyright rejections.  I wrote to them via e-mail and got a personal e-mail response in about 12 hours each of the two times I wrote.  With regards to the logo, I had no idea what they were worried about but in the very nice e-mail response they attached a copy of the photo with the logos of concern that I hadn't noticed circled.  I fixed the image and it was rapidly accepted.  With the other copyright issues the concern was explained to me but the person that responded felt that two of the four rejections could still be accepted and he pulled them out of the rejection bin and accepted them

Why don't you write them.  I have been very happy with the personal and rapid responses I have gotten...though they were far less images.

Hard to tell in the first.

In the second, what's on the side of the book and then what's on the headset?  I can't tell because of the WM but it looks like there may be a title on the side of the book and some word/words on the black part of the headset above his ear?

In the third - what's on the back of the book, our view top right corner?

Is there something distinct on his buttons that would set it apart from all other suits?  Some sort of logo or whatnot on the buttons?

Yeah..... no clue other than that.

If Istock didn't find a logo or brand, I'm doubting there is one.

Hi All,

With respect to any rejections, please just let me say that you may email us directly - submission(at)123rf.com for a re-review or explanation. We practice an open door concept whereby you can always submit your appeals for a re-review.

As for chode's rejections (good thing he maintains the same uid at 123rf) it's the buttons of the gentleman's jacket. Each button bears a coat of arms for which the reviewer felt could be copyrighted. We look at images at a actual pixel size, yes, we've been quite lax in the past, but we're cleaning up things on 123RF.

Therefore, I hope I made 123RF's stance clear, if there's anything that could lead to a copyright/branding/release problem, it'll most likely be rejected, but do appeal if you feel that they're unwarranted.

I get these emails everyday and if the need arises, I'll do a very small screenshot and show you the problem, you then use photoshop to clone it out and resubmit, it'll be accepted.

Thank you very much!

Alex

P/S - excellent forum by the way...!

hi, thank you for your answer. I did get your message in my messages at 123rf, but accidentaly delted it without reading it.

Buttons? Hm... I dont know, this is some cheap chineese suit, no-name, the button ornamets are just random, I dont believe it is any logo, but ok, it is your right to reject it, althought most other sites accepted those (FT, SS, DT, StockXpert).

on the notebook - no logo. On the headset there was logo, but I cloned it out. There is a word "Digital", which is not a logo.

Flawed argument alert. Just because site X accepts something or because sites W, Y and Z all accepted something, that doesn't mean that a reviewer at site V doesn't find something that is potentially a legal problem. It also doesn't prove that all of the rest aren't wrong and one site has it right.

I have one photo that was accepted at some sites and rejected for a FAA number on an aircraft at others. Which I assume is public information anyway, but... No big deal, I removed it and submitted again to the ones that allowed me to do so. One site refused the photo for a luggage tag on a suitcase. I think another just came back with "not suitable for stock".  ;D

Nine sites, seven accepted, two rejected. Which according to me, proves nothing about who's right or wrong, it's just some counting of results.

While I agree with you, that sometimes these are ridiculous, I keep telling myself, it's their game and they make the rules, so fine. If they don't want the photo, I'll sell it somewhere else. No big deal.

You have three eyes, I'm sure you can see my point!  ;)

Maybe 123RF is getting more stringent, the way that Fotolia has.  Some of my shots that are getting accepted at SS are getting rejected by Fotolia and 123RF, which seemed odd at first because I always thought SS was supposed to be tougher to get accepted at.  Fotolia used to accept anything and everything.
