Hi guys,
did this happen to you before? I sent them a reply explaining that We "Contributors" ::) don't send our precious work by Email just because someone managed to add the @123rf.com after his/her email address and I re-uploaded the file and sent them link, yet they said that the new file is also corrupted, I checked, Double checked, nothing! everything looks okay!
is this scam?
here's a copy of the email I got:
Dear contributor,
We'd like to request you to resend image http://www.123rf.com/photo_xxxx (http://www.123rf.com/photo_xxxx) again as the EPS file image is corrupted.
Do get back to us as soon as possible as a client is interested in it.
*Kindly ZIP and ATTACH the file to us through email.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Estrel
Best regards, always!

It does smell like a scam. I think if it were me, I'd contact support at 123RF and ask if it's legit.

You mean @123rf.com ?
-
Sorry my Bad, Yes @123rf.com

it's obviously a scam..

Why would you think this is a scam if the recipient has a @123rf.com adress? What would the scammer benefit from this?

and why would a big stock agency ask a contributor to send one file BY EMAIL!!

Because the regular upload to them failed. It's not possible for a scam to make an @123rf.com e-mail address.

I Believe IT'S SCAM (THE PROFESSIONAL SCARY TYPE)
how? Well I'm registered at 123rf.com with the Email "A at xxx.com" however I'm setting that email address to forward all my emails to "B at xxx.com" (for security purposes)
so basically if it was 123rf.com it should have emailed me at A at xxx.com (the email they have in their database/record) and not "B at xxx.com" the other one I use for day to day stuff!
or perhaps it's me!

Just email 123 from their website and verify, or call them. It's not that difficult to verify the email.

I've had that too, a few months back.
I don't believe it was a scam and sent them a replacement, though mine was signed by a different staff member.
My email made clear it was because a buyer had purchased the file and discovered it had become corrupted.
It is possible trick your email software into misreporting the sender somehow though, I have had emails reporting to be from @paypal.com when they were obvious scams

Yes, you can change the sender, but it the action needs a reply to the email, the scammers cannot have any benefit.
Scammers usually include some bogus link to follow, not email reply.

i think a scammer will be more interested to tell u she is the princess from an africa country and want u to inherit her fortune..
-
anyway, I would never send my files via email..

Hi everyone,
I can verify that it was a legitimate email. Estrel is a member of our Content Acquisition team.
If you prefer to send via FTP it's no problem for us. Just let us know that it's sitting in your FTP folder and let us know by return email.
Our IT team can then retrieve it and replace it thereafter.
Sometimes the EPS is corrupted during processing or the transfer of files, or perhaps during transfer via FTP there might be a glitch.
So from time to time as and when we discover problems, we do ask for original files via email to avoid getting them re-processed by mistake.
But as I said before, if you're not comfortable with email, please FTP it up into our FTP server and we'll take it from there on.
Thank you,
Alex.

The End ;D
Interesting story while it lasted...

it's not the "How to send the file" that concerned me, it was the email itself, anyway thanks for verifying it Alex I'll contact you soon,

You too, and I have all kinds of dead relatives that I never heard of before, in Nigeria. Wow what a coincidence. ;)
Nice to see a legit file update, and the company cares, which means a sale is pending.

Why do people always ask if something is a scam in a forum where NOONE will ever have the answer? Just email the freaken agency and ask THEM
Because almost everyone here said it was a scam when it wasnt, almost depriving the OP from selling his stuff
