does anyone contribute at 123rf?  do you know if they're still up and running and accepting submissions.  I've been uploading for over a month both via web uploader and ftp but nothing ever appears in my queue.

Yes they are stumbling along...I just upload my stuff there and leave it. Not worth the effort to keep monitoring and chasing. A once decent earner gone to pot.

They cut the commission rate at the beginning of the year .32 to .28 a download, they ran a similar operation with the rankings for everyone two years ago, where they changed the commission structure.

Overall you will struggle to sell with this company unless you constantly upload.

Personally I believe the commission cuts are all about them making more money, I have to say Adobe putting the commission rate up is a very welcome change to the greed of some of the sites who seem to believe they are the ones who make the money.

I have over 200 photos (all editorial) in the cue for more than 8 months.  In the past, they were one of the quickest sites to approve, usually within 48 hours, now everything languishes there.  Commercial photos are approved relatively quickly.

When I had photos in the cue for a while, I would email them. They would reply, then approve the photos.  However the last two times I emailed, they got around o reviewing the photos.  I went from a 95% approval rate to about a 75% rejection rate.  they remain one of the easiest site to upload, just don't expect to see your files posted.

This is a shame, as they were one of my more consistent sites for sales

123RF works fine for me. Steady income with usual ups and downs. 4K illustrations, 2 rejections in five years. I have no complains whatsoever. And very nice lady on the phone.

Obviously varying experiences with 123RF.

Personally I dumped them when they lowered the minimum payment below $0.30us. And this is an agency that hasn't spent a nickle on their site since their inception. It looks like something from the 1990's. Meanwhile other agencies that I've worked with have tried to simplify and improve their sites....Shutterstock in particular who use image recognition technology to provide possible new descriptive words. Pretty impressive IMO when you think of the volume they have to deal with on a daily basis. Its also an agency where you're going to reach your next level faster than most agencies. Currently I make a minimum $0.38 per sale. Pond5 matches that if you set the price accordingly.

Meanwhile 123rf only makes changes to their website when they're trying to pick more money out of your pocket, IMO.

They were doing pretty well for me until they got greedy and grabbed a bigger share, sometime near the end of last year the sales plummeted again, and they took a bigger share. My take has dropped an order of magnitude and I no longer upload there. I think in their exciting news they said that paying me less was going to motivate me, but it only motivated me to send my files elsewhere.

They went down a lot since last year. I finally reached a point when I had regular payouts every month and then they started crashing down all the way to one digit numbers in summer. Their monthly earnings went down from hundreds to tens of $ within a year.
I can't see them recovering, there is nothing special at all they are offering to customers that other sites don't have. Just another dying site I guess. And with their poor commissions, they won't be missed here.

Just sold two LEL's, each for $0.975.
Less than a dollar? Seriously?

they were okay until they lowered our levels! I was with them for several years and close to making Level 5 when they lowered me to level 2. And they were gutless in not letting us know! Even when I asked they didn't respond for a few months! The don't belong in the Middle Tier for sure! Bottom Feeder!  >:(

I have about 250 images waiting to be reviewed. They are the most shocking of all sites I contribute to. I emailed to ask when my first ones would be reviewed and they did them then nothing since. I think there is one person reviewing and he's taken a year's leave!

We wasted too much time on this crappy company --- thus I will work on my uploads to other bottom feeders   :(

I was making in the $150-$180 range per month and today it takes me two months to make payout.  They are pretty dead for me.
