This guy Garcya pops up on the thief radar ever now and again, and always seems to stay up and running. His site is a chop shop for vectors where he basically takes stock images from the various microstock sites, packs them up, and distributes them at a cost via Rapidshare.

Here are some of his many blog entries boasting his latest item for sale or free:

I've seen posts about him in other forums, site admins swear that they'll take care of it, and yet here he is again. How can we get this guy shut down permanently?

I wrote an email to GoDaddy, asking them to consider reviewing the site and disabling it. But who knows if that will do anything.

I know hosts do shut down sites sometimes for copyright issues, but I don't know the proper way of requesting such action be taken.

If he's actually selling YOUR photos/vectors then yes a DMCA Take Down Notice is what you would use. Here is how to do it at GoDaddy:

So this guy just happens to be accidentally making duplicates of vectors from the best-selling artists in microstock? Kristy's florals? Misha's florals? Well-know vector icons and tags?

Trust me. I've seen those images plenty of times, and he didn't make them.

I think that it maybe not good for offering free royalty vector issue, especially editable vector. Why they prefer vectors to put on rapidshare than photos? I feel that it is like piracy too. If some designer didn't like their intelectual property given to share like that, they maybe render it to jpeg for resell. So, they still save an editable vector for their own. Illustration on an editable vector is very easy to learned. It is more fit on education but not for market industry.
How about your comment?

Come on, let's be serious  ::)

And for your information, photos and other JPEG are also stolen regularly and vector do sell better than photo on microstock because they are indeed editable which is very interesting for designers.

The really sad thing is that on this page (http://garcya.us/blog/free-vector-graphics/) there are hundreds of replies thanking him for his "great work" and praising him for being so "talented" - one of the replies even asks if he is interested in doing private work for a baby clothing line.... would love to see him attempt that one!!

Another reply: "I JUST PICKED UP ALL THE PACKS THROUGHT PAYPAL. SUPPORT THIS GUY ! ITS CHEAP AND WELL WORTH THE VALUE. VERY INSPIRING! MORE PACKS PLEASE !!!"

Those involved in having their work stolen need to report it to PayPal. They will freeze his account.
