Hello again,
Another different question
Does anyone sell 3D images on stock sites?
Thanks
:)

Yes you can see a lot of contributors selling stock 3D rendered images

Hi, sorry for not replying sooner.
Thank you for replying to me.
Just a couple more questions -
I do vector images with illustrator but am learning to do 3d with Sketchup.
Can you tell me if Sketchup is good enough to do 3d images for microstock?
And which microstocks sites are good for selling 3d images?
Do 3d images sell for more or sell better than vectors?
Kind regards
:)

Most in my shutterstock portfolio are vectors and I have maybe 10% 3D rendered images in my portfolio. For me vectors sell most than the 3D renders. You better use software with advance rendering features or else shutterstock will reject it. I'm using Cinema 4D and Photoshop 3D and i got a good result

how do you upload 3d images to istock for instance?i have a 3d camera and took many 3d pictures.do i need a software to convert them on my pc? or i can upload them straight away.the files on pc are amp somethin like that

Computer generated 3D. Not stereo images.

Hi thanks for replying!
So sketchup doesn't render well enough?
Are there any free 3d programmes that do (I imagine not)?
I've got to learn sketchup for work anyway but was thinking it could do for microstock too. But then you say that vectors sell more (mine sell fairly well), so perhaps it's not really worth it?
Does 3d take much longer?
thanks again
:D

Its worth it but you need to have a computer with good specs for that. 3D softwares needs a fast computer specially for rendering purposes. For what I know, you can render good quality 3D images in sketchup using some plugins and extensions and it will cost you money. But if you really want the best of 3D's you should try 3D's Max or Cinema 4D.
There's a lot of Popular portfolios in shutterstock that has only 3D images on it.

I believe Blender is free, but I've never used it so can't comment
