Maybe uploading exclusive content to pond5 is not a good idea?

i just uploaded my first file, was hoping to build up a different video income stream with exclusive files.

Is all exclusive content sent to Shutterstock? Or are these real pond5 sales?

I can sympathize with you, this shouldn't be happening! I'm non exclusive on Pond5 but today I got a little over a $1. royalty for a video listed at $50. How did this happen? Just ridiculous! How do I opt out of this type of yuk scraping the barrel on royalties? I would usually get a minimum of $10 to $25 for half of sale!!! It has been licensed a few times before.

Are the low sales commissions subscription sales? If so someone may be able to advise opt out options, if any. Fortunately I don't get any subscription sales.

If you go to the Financials page you will probably find that the $1.68 sales are part of Pond5's GPP distribution scheme.

Is unfortunately normal now with P5. Have also almost only such low sales. Market place and GPP, both.
I have had higher RPD on my non-exclusive P5 account than on my exclusive account for the last 3 months.

You used to be able to disable these cheap sales, you can't do that anymore.

There are more reports about this in the P5 subforum.

Yup. I had four video sales yesterday that netted me $2.56 each.  And this is before Shutterstock forces other changes that net us much less with the promise of much more. And the only reason "this is what the customers want" is because the agencies have allowed it.

Cobalt, the reason for such low sales of GPP (Global Partner Program) was because of subscription model that Adobe made to P5. As a result P5 terminate the partnership but this action cannot be terminate in days. It took months...

So... it's Adobe subscription sales not really P5 sales.

Hope this helps...You will find in P5 forum an written message from P5 Staff (Pond5 Forums/General Discussion/December GPP Payout) to clarify this issue:

"Hi Folks,

Recently, many artists received payouts labeled as GPP program licensing transactions. Please know that all of these payments are related to the remaining balances owed to our Pond5 artists for Adobe Stock subscription sales through our previous partnership with Adobe. As you may know, we have terminated our partnership with Adobe as of July 29th, and while we had previously communicated the final payment would occur at the end of the summer, we later learned there was additional licensing activity that took place during the wind-down period of the partnership. These payments now represent the final transactions, in full settlement of amounts owed to our Pond5 artists under the partnership.

We apologize for the confusion and thank you for your patience as we process these payments. Please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions."

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation, that really helps.

So hopefully exclusive content will get better returns.

I finally had a sale on my regular account. Only 4 dollars, but at least a sign of life.

I had my first exclusive sale on P5 the other day and my commission was much lower than expected and it wasn't a GPP sale either.

My exclusive account is for the sole purpose of selling my best CG content in return for what I was expecting a 60% commission, if this carries on I will have to reconsider uploading exclusive content to P5.

I hope they can rebalance this issue.
