I ordered on Amazon month ago and now they send me notice that shipment is going to be delayed again.

Strange? B&H and Adorama (both places $2699) show them as in stock.

Amazon, right below their listing have this, "Shipping: Usually ships within 1 - 2 months."

Maybe I shouldn't ask, but why would you go to Amazon instead of a camera store that has them in stock at the same price?

Because Amazon has a 30 day return policy and Adorama, B&H, etc. have 14 days?  Usually there's nothing wrong (my 5D's I and II were perfect) but if there is 14 days isn't very long to discover it.

FWIW Crutchfield has a 30 day return policy too and much better service than Amazon, if anyone cares... :)

Hmm, B&H Photo did not have it in stock yesterday :-) If it has today I hope it is permanent. On Adorama page I do not even know where text "in stock" is :-)  Sometimes sites cheat and you learn that it's not available after you order...

Good part is I can cancel it on Amazon anytime and order somewhere else.

I thought maybe there was some special discount, financing or shipping benefit. Never know what someone else will find that I miss.  :D

I still love the Amazon one to two months on the listing. Months?

I'll send you a PM about some other ideas.

I ordered one yesterday from Adorama, but it said it was out of stock, and there was no time estimate given.

Today I got an email saying it shipped.  :)

Ebay buyitnow - live.com cashback discount of 12% off (maximum of $200 off) so $2700 - 200 = $2500 for a 5dmkii.  Not bad I guess, but that's what I spent on my first car.  I'll wait until it's down to what the old 5d is going for now.

Firstly, I am sorry that we caused you concern, and then attempt to clarify how the stock situation at Adorama works.

With high demand items, frequent delivery and dispatch times mean that items can come in one door, be packaged, and out of another within a couple of hours, so real time inventory is often not possible.

Unless the items actually hit the shelves, our computer system generates an automatic message in response to an order, indicating that it is out of stock.

Another possible scenario, is that you could see an in-stock indication, if a shipment was expected into the warehouse within the next 24 hours - but again, the systems we have, aren't currently set up to be able to handle this (although we are currently working on it), and our computers tell you that the item is back-ordered!

Again, apologies for the inconvenience - I'm delighted that your %D is on its way.

If you ever have any queries or concerns regarding an order or purchase from Adorama Camera or AdoramaPix, you are always very welcome to contact me directly: [email protected]

Sincerely

It's not that crucial for me, unless my old 20D breaks :-) I do most of my online shopping thru Amazon cause I am Prime subscriber there :-)  Also I am not going to have much time for shooting till May anyway.

Amazon gave up and canceled my order. I do not get it, why there are problems with supply of this camera?

Ordered from BHPhoto.

I ordered on Amazon month ago and now they send me notice that shipment is going to be delayed again.

I bought mine from Best Buy.  They had one in stock in a store that was 4 hours away.  I called them and asked them to hold it for me and then hopped in the car and drove there!  I also got the 580EX II flash, which they matched the B&H price.
