Title: A slow start but at least it's a start
Post by: rosta on May 12, 2006, 16:06
I started out in micros last fall with a total of ten images.  Most went on BigStock, some to totallyphotos and a grand total of 2 were accepted to istock.  Well about six weeks ago I got around to checking my stats and saw that i had sold 2 sales each on BigStock and IS.  While I watched a third sale (of the same photo) happedned on IS.  Since then i have added other micro sites and am slowly building my portfolio.  Two weeks ago another BigStock sale, last week andother IS sale..this time for $1.00 and today my first sale at dreamstime. I know it's slow..I just wish I had more time to really build up my portfolio. I have been learning a lot though and have had very few rejections for technical problems.

I know the feeling I am pretty new to this and have spent the last month uploading my portfolio to a number of sights and tonight got my first sale on IS. A whole $1.61.

I'm out in the morning to order the Aston Martin......

Very true!

Congratulations Rosta and Druid - good to hear that you're sales are starting up.  Take care not to overstrain your 'F5' finger.  ;)

"Aston Martin" LOL

I can't help myself thinking I could have bought an Aston or 2 if I had started back in 2005. Just all the isolated on white fruit and vegetable shots (let say I'd shoot every type of fruit and vegetable available on the market) would bring me enough to buy a few sets of rear tyres I'd be burning in a day or two :) . Of course this doesn't help at all, but I am a dreamer ;D

Nice, I am also just starting out.

I started out on 123rf with 9 images, just to see if I would get any bites.

Months pass by..

I randomly check to see my sales and I sold an Extra Large PRINT! Wowweee. I love the feeling that someone has my panorama photo on their wall!
