Hi

First of i really have no idea of the way google adds works, but seeing adds for SS, Dt etc. on some of the "pirate sites" that offer free downloads of stock material seems .... well just plain wrong.

I think google has a program with partner sites and if the advertiser has opted into the program it will place your ad on random sites that are deemed to be related topics.  Not entirely sure, but what may be happening is the pirate sites join into the partner program saying they want to get paid for hosting ads, and the micro sites are in the program saying they want to be placed on related sites.  In many cases they are being placed on sites that are photo blogs and forums, but in this case they are ending up on undesireable locations.  I don't think you can select, it's probably all or nothing so to eliminate those you'd be eliminating all the desireable sites by opting out.

To have Google Ad Sense advertisements on your page you just need to sign up, determine sizes for banners etc. and copy the code into your web page html code and soon you have ads on your page. And if the ads are viewed and/or clicked you get money.

Of course Google tells that their ads cannot be used on sites with illegal content or pornography, but some just don't care.

I think you are correct. And it's difficult to believe that the microstock agencies don't report these ads appearing on pirate sites, who are actually stealing money from us all! But again, I think you are right. They don't care. Hence the push to make everyone exclusive. That eliminates the problem for them entirely. Sure, pirates will still steal, but tracking down where the image came from will be easy, and then Contributor Relations will be all over it.
