Will these videos remain on the market or will the buyer not be able to buy them?

30 nominated that have either zero or just one or two sales. hope they take them all.

but they will probably take 2 or 3.

What is the benefit for Adobe from such promotions? I see my benefit, Adobe will pay me $8 for 1 video. And who will pay Adobe if it does not take money from buyers?

Adobe chose several thousand videos from me, I agreed to all of them!  ;D ;D ;D

i have a huge pile of 0 sale videos "nominated."  i wonder if anyone has ever been paid for these via the free collection route in the past (i didn't have anything nominated last time so i have no experience).  i'd be happy with 10% accepted like with my image nominations.

So they pay $8 per video they accept for a 12 month period. So if they would take a clip in total 24 months, you would get $16? (or whatever the $ per video is next year)

Not that bad of a deal I think.

I have about 2000 clips nominated.

I had one video accepted last year and got the money.

I hope they take all 30, but usually they take very few.

Good luck to those with thousands of files nominated. That could become a sweet payday.

So we got 5$ for a photo and now 8$ for a video and you feel like its worth it, you guys are selling your work so cheap, I have almost 2k videos selected but I'll give none for 8$.

they are extracting still images out of the selected footage.

You are confusing this with videos being used to train Firefly. This thread is about videos for the free collection. Adobe are not going to put still images extracted from videos in their free collection.

Typically they seem to accept 1-5% of nominations from a given portfolio.

2400 selected I will not accept a single one.
Not fair to have the same videos for sale on other sites and here for free.

The more people refuse, the more of my videos Adobe nominates.
Stockers - you don't have to agree!  ;D ;D ;D

95 eligible assets, so 20% of my portfolio. Quite a few more than last time.

participating in such free programs is even more stuped than offering your content on this unlimited agencies.
I cant wait to soon read all the regrets again, that your content was sold by thieves, and you have no idea how that happend, and why you are seeing a decline in earnings because your comepting now against your own content which will be uploaded over and over again for ever.
Its hard to believe how deluded some people are, not seeing the big picture.

I never track what was stolen from me or not stolen. I am not interested in it. It is not my problem, but the problem of stock agencies. Also, theft does not affect my income level.

Being nominated for Adobe is a guaranteed income and portfolio advertising. I am fine with that.

There is no surprise this whole industry is going to crap when we give our work almost for free, we get what we deserve.

from my point of view, giving away some work for free is a way to give more exposure to my portfolio, clearly you must have a suitable ratio (portfolio/free assets) .. example 5%? 10%? ... it's called marketing... maybe some of you have slices of ham in front of your eyes and only look at their own sacred little garden, fearing that the all world will punish you if you give some assets for free ..

its not for free but, for peanuts if they decide to pay 5x or 10x more, that will be OK maybethen, they will be able to choose and pay less, probably but, for 8$ its a shame and not sustainable for stock contributor community

Hear hear! $8 is a complete kick in the noids and so disrespectful. I am surprised there are contributors desperate enough to sell out for a pitiful $8. I am worth more than that and so is my content.

Exactly, everyone should imagen what would happen if we all disagree to that, they would have no files to give away for free, its like the president declares war, but no citizen is participating, that war will never happen. Remember your content is free for one entire year, not like a special black friday deal or somthing like that. I get the marketing idea, but its not really working anyway, because most people needing stock content know exactly what they need, so this can be a total waste of time for many customers by trying to search the free library but not finding what they actually need, and than go back to the main library and start the search at zero again. But for thieves this will not matter, they will take what ever they can especially if its free, because than they dont even risk a single cent if they cant sell it themself, a zero investment, with the possibility of making a decent amount over time. A very sad way of going through life, but some people just dont care. I hope that at least the one creating the content should care, and treats his work with selfrespect, because at the end of the day, if you dont respect yourself, nobody ever will.

Stockers, don't be greedy! $8 is a normal price, because not one video will be bought, but many videos.  ;D ;D ;D

Who? These videos will be included as free assets in the creative cloud subscription and you know creative cloud subscription is not free. Your free videos will get hundreds, if not thousands of downloads.

You are only paid a fraction of the value they get out of your images or videos.

That being said, I see nothing wrong with nominating all your files for this promotion.

Sometimes I wonder why some people even upload files to Adobe. Video sales start at 2.80. Or istock/getty where sales can be a few cents...

Why don't you just keep files exclusive elsewhere and prices at 1000 dollars?

Seems like the only truly fair price, right?

The rest of us are happy to offer different types of content at different price points and are also happy to use weaker files for marketing to lead eyeballs to our ports.

It is a big business world, you can all find your personal way of doing things.

I completely agree with you, Cobalt! Adobe is a great agency to work with, and I will do my best to benefit from it.

I have been uploading to Artlist for eight months now. I always watch for anyone who uploads my footage to other agencies. It has happened twice, and the accounts involved were quickly closed and never uploaded again. This situation hasn't been a dealbreaker for me, considering the potential earnings from that agency.

Artlist, storyblocks and Adobe, where do you earn more?

I'm not greedy. I'm happy with everything. I also upload my videos to subscription stocks. People upload my videos almost for free every day. I haven't noticed any sales drop on other non-subscription stocks.

Nobody pays Adobe... it's a marketing cost just like a free trial or an introductory offer. They're hoping that people will like the free stuff and then pay for, or subscribe to, the non-free stuff. Im sure it's hard to quantify exactly if it's covering the costs for them, but they've been doing it for a while now, so they must feel it's worth it.

I only nominate assets that haven't sold once in 5 years...the duds in my portfolio. With AI coming, I consider my future in microstock non-existent anyway. 10 years from now, maybe even sooner, business models will have drastically changed, excluding most artists. Maybe AI content farms will take over the market.

strongly agree.  i have 800 "nominated" and exactly 2 of those have ever sold on adobe.  i doubt they will accept much if any of the remaining 798 but if they do it's highly probably that the $8 is $8 more than i would get if they didn't offer the free collection option.  renting unsold videos for $8/year is really not a bad deal considering one or two sales during that time @ $2.80 wouldn't match $8 anyway.  i've heard many times here and elsewhere that the best days of microstock are way in the past.  most folks seem to suggest it was around 2016 to 2019 or so.  not having a time machine i'm inclined to collect whatever change is left before we stop earning altogether.
