Title: Adobe stock
Post by: ybadr on March 23, 2017, 16:13
Hi Mates

Anyone trying Adobe stock ? I see no rating in Microstock poll
I closed my fololia account some time ago.

Should i start uploading to Adobe stock or is the fotolia site still a good option ?

I like Adobe's uploading better, and Fotolia's stats are better. So, I guess both?

I thought adobe stock is Fotolia? Aren't all my files from fotolia on adobe stock too? Maybe I am wrong...
I'm only uploading to SS these days so I may be out of the loop.

I started selling footage on Adobe Stock recently and have had a few nice sales. Their review time is super quick and the share of profits seems decent so far (can vary depending on whether the sale is through Adobe CC or Fotolia).

I don't think you can create a new Fotolia account anymore - uploads all go via an Adobe CC account now.

If you have a Fotolia account (in your case, if you ask them to re-open yours) you can upload to either site and the content will appear on both:

http://www.microstockgroup.com/fotolia-com/adobe-stock-contributor-site-now-live (http://www.microstockgroup.com/fotolia-com/adobe-stock-contributor-site-now-live)!/msg464778/#msg464778

I believe they have shut down adding contributors via Fotolia and that can only be done via the Adobe site.

I'm seeing good sales through Adobe Stock/Fotolia (restarted contributing there in December). I'd definitely say it's worth it - second only to SS at the moment (for me)

Yes do, they are on the up and are now treating contributors better than in the FL days. It is just a shame they haven't reinstated accounts of people who were unfairly banned under the old regime.

I joined Adobe stock 3 months ago. Now with some 400 images, I earn around 150 euro a month. It is a bit disappointing because I get twice as much at 123rf, with the same amount of images. Looking at the Poll results on the right and comparing numbers for 123 and Fotolia, I was hoping for a better result. But it is better than nothing, I guess..

If you're getting 300 euro a month from 400 images on 123rf, you're doing better than over 99% of us.

To be fair, it didnt happen overnight. I joined 123 about one and half year ago and my monthly earnings were growing slowly at first, it took about six months to get 100 dollars monthly, then the growth was faster. Now Im getting between 250-350 USD a month there, in the recent six months. I put only the better part of my portfolio there, the proven good-sellers.

My images already get copied a lot. I draw people and animals and I often see crippled versions of my images under Similar images in Shutterstock search results. It is like a plague  :( But sincerely, I am surprised to do so well at 123rf, as people here generally report lower earnings at this agency. I suppose vectors sell better than photos there? I dont have the same success with other agencies though - Dreamstime is doing poorly for me, iStock was never good for me even in the "better days", Depositphotos was poor (but I stopped uploading there ages ago..). It seems certain portfolio may fit customers at certain agency and I was lucky with 123.

Ive had a few sales at Adobe Stock but I do have an extremely small portfolio there. If only they would fix their upload process. So many of my photos just don't go through when I submit them.

So just to confirm, if I have an account on fotolia already there is no need to open one for Adobe Stock, since they are one in the same?

No need to open an account on the other site. The images uploaded to either site are available for sale on both. At some point you may need to open an Adobe account if they stop letting you use the Fotolia one but presumably there will be plenty of warning if that happens.

Fotolia with Adobe stock is great! I have some 3000 images with them and I get approx $.800 a month give or take. At the moment they are riding high mainly because SS is producing poor results for many but yes they are good.

I can strongly recommend them.

"These 70 pictures represented around 80% of my SS income and sold in hundreds every single day for the past five years and I mean hundreds every day." so you were making $12,000 a month...I wonder why you hate SS so much?

yeah its a pretty bad climate nowadays! but you were there in the heyday were you not. In the film days I mean? anyway over a period of 22 years I have managed to build a port of over 20.000 images and many digitized drum-scaned and they are just earning a fraction of what they used to. Heyday is over its rather a Mayday!

I get paid out in dollars at 123rf. Im with six agencies and all pay in dollars except for Adobe/FT - I dont know why Adobe pays me out in Euro, probably because Im in the EU country. I didnt find any option to change it to dollars. And yes, I make around 300 dollars at 123rf with 400 images. In March I had 306 dollars and 410 sales. Im getting many credit sales - the XXL sales which range between 3-5 dollars each. In reverse at Adobe/FT Im getting mostly subscription sales, usually 0,27 euro... And like I said, I put only my good-sellers on both 123 and Adobe stock. I have bigger portfolio at Shutterstock but I didnt want to put my old worse images to the sites which were relatively new to me.

You keep doubting anyone who post their income, is it a hobby of yours? I dont get it :-/

They pay me in British pounds even though I live in the US and signed up with their US site.  I asked them to change it and they said that is impossible, which is ridiculous - I used to work as a computer programmer and that would be very easy to change if they had the will.  They just don't care.  I have no idea how that happened unless I accidentally clicked something wrong when signing up - I would certainly never ask to be paid in a foreign currency.  I don't want to pay the conversion fees so that money is sitting in my Paypal account - I guess I will be ready the next time I go to Britain.

Why should you want to be paid in Dollars?

If you are paid in Dollars 1 credit = 1 $
It you are paid in Euros 1 credit = 1 €

1 € = 1.07 $

300 euro with 400 images at months at 123rf. i have 3000 images mostlytravel and editorial ok , i earn no more than 8 bucks at month...the worst site i contribute by far....fotolia is not even 1/10 of ss 1/6 of stock an even 1/3 of dreamtime.
maybe in 123rf and foltoia they sell mostly people shot. i don't know...a return per year of 10 bucks per image in 123rf?

I dont get it :-/

i found incredible to earn 300 dollar in 123rf. i repeat for me is even worst than crestock
Well you are not necessarily representative I get about 25% on there compared with SS which I suspect is a higher average than most.

Fotolia with Adobe stock is great! I have some 3000 images with them and I get approx $.800 a month give or take. At the moment they are riding high mainly because SS is producing poor results for many but yes they are good.

I can strongly recommend them.

You're making $800 a month on 3000 images? or 80 cents?

I don't understand why you people are so mean! It's so easy to make 800 Namibian dollars per month from 3000 images. I top that every month  :'(

I expected big sales grow up in Fotolia after Adobe bought it but i was wrong.
There is little increase of earnings average but February was my worst month in last 3 years.
Fotolia/Adobe made only 11% of my all time earnings. It takes #4 on my top earners list.
Maybe it is not best place to sell videos.

They are solid 2nd place for me but I didn't experience the anticipated upswing with Adobe taking over. I'm still waiting for someone to give SS some serious competition which is sorely needed I think.
