Title: Agencies with fastest image uploading
Post by: esphoto on March 05, 2012, 16:28
Assuming you've got a few thousand images with captions and keywords in the metadata ready to go...

Who makes it really fast and easy to upload images?

(I've heard CanStockPhoto is pretty good... iStock obviously is pretty bad.)

there are tons of them, worth the try? you need to see it yourself (but I dont think you will have a more than 10-15% from them)

only upload - glstock, scanstockphoto, signstock, allyoucanstock, photokore, superhug, stockfresh (last one 1 click to all)
upload and 1-5 clicks (per batch) - veer, 123rf, photodune, yay, pixmac, panthermedia, canstockphoto, irockstock, crestock, zoonar, mostphotos
upload, clicks, categories - deposiphotos, bigstockphoto, featurepics (last one no categories but one each time)

over 200$ in 2011 - canstockphoto, depositphotos
from 150$ to 200$ in 2011 - veer, photodune, panthermedia, bigstockphoto, isignstock

Thanks! If I may ask, how many images do you have with them to get those earnings?

What's the point of uploading to agencies that don't sell anything (or virtually nothing)? Of the major agencies, SS's upload is the easiest - FTP, stored model releases, ability to assign categories & model releases to a batch...

Because I value my time? Better to spend two hours to make $100 a month than a week to achieve the same result.

(There was a discussion on here years ago about the effectively hourly wage people got, and I seem to remember many microstockers actually making less than minimum wage...)

But you won't. Instead of getting 100$ and spending "a week", you'll be getting a few cents, but waste less time.

If you don't believe me, check the sales of the top contributors on those sites. It'll make you laugh ;)

you need to pick the right small players like I have said and also told you some numbers..

I will add that I have made around 10k $ in 2011, 1700$ were made in agencies beside the top5 (SS, IS, FT, 123RF, DT)

the time I have spent was worth? in my opinion hell yeah it was and why do I say this? because I wasn´t going to shoot/edit/keywording other stuff so I was uploading/submitting as I was browsing websites, watching TV, facebook, listening to music and this forum, so why not?

if you have plans for shooting more I would say shoot more not uploading to more agencies, you need to check agencies yourself and how they work for you, the majority of them are very quick

$1700 over 5 sites versus $5000 one site.

That's just over $340 per 5 sites versus $5000 per one site.

Although nobody is so naive to believe this is a passive income forever, we have hopes (and proof) that the same old pictures will keep on selling for many years. How can one even calculate an hourly wage?

Time also matters. If you need 30 hours to made 1700 $ you`ll have a perfekt hourly wage.  if you need 5000 hours to made 5000 $ ...

I'm sure you realize how absurd that comparison is ;)
