I get lots of RF sales on Alamy as well as rights managed sales and I get more money than I do on microstock

Of course I send RF microstock images to Alamy it would be foolish not too after all its a market place too just like Shutterstock, 123RF Dreamstime etc.

Just don't sell RF on other sites and try and sell the same images as RM thats a breach of their conditions.

As to the RM or RF question only you can decide which is the best license you sell it as.

As to how much do I make? Well thats my info only.

But I made more there with fewer sales than all the other agencies combined (excluding Shutterstock) and if sales continue to increase the way they have Alamy may even over take SS :)

Alamy's license terms aren't the same as most of the micrstock sites, even for Alamy RF sales, plus you get paid waaay in the future, so to my way of thinking those generous payment terms and license options justify different pricing. So yes, I do upload pictures to both. I wouldn't include any apples isolated on white (if I had any).

Alamy has small sales as well as big ones - in November, which was very quiet there for me, I had two sales. One for (gross) $25.57 and one for $292. It'll never come close to AS/FT or SS (for me) but it's certainly worthwhile.

I submit only to Alamy (RM) nowadays and still have a port at iStock.
Adjusting for relative port size, I always have and still do earn more at iStock; whether that will continue, I can't say. My Alamy sales seem mostly to go to those with the largest discounts. They're also branching out into other schemes, I guess in an effort to make up for the sales which have gone to the micros, so I'm expecting the rpd to decrease pretty rapidly starting from now. Time will tell if sales will increase to make up for that; I have no idea where they advertise.

I have the same concerns about uploading solely to Alamy and missing sales on the micros so I have uploaded to both. I only have a small port, from 400-600 depending on the agency. In the almost two years I've been doing this my total earnings are in this order IS, SS, FT, AL, BS, DT... although very meagre amounts from all. I don't have the same incentive as my first year and haven't uploaded many this year.

I would gladly upload only to Alamy if I thought it was worthwhile but I just don't see me getting the sales to replace the others.

I upload all RF images to Alamy and the micros but also have some that are RM and only on Alamy - it depends on the subject.  Something that is specialized and likely to have a very small market I upload RM to Alamy - will probably make more with the rare higher-value sale than hope for a 38-cent sub sale on the micros.

The only way to know what will be best for you is to do a test - shoot the same subject under very different conditions (so that RM images are different from those that will be sold RF), upload and see how much you make after three years or so.  Then you will have your answer about which is better.  Good luck!

and by then the markets will be different so you still won't know.

I do upload all my stuff to Alamy (although I didn't upsize back when that would have been necessary). Plus a few RM images that I either didn't want to send to micros or didn't want to bother trying to do as editorial on micros.

Some months Alamy is horrible - like no sales at all horrible, other months it does better than the micros. This year they are my leading agency, which says more about the large fall of SS than the small rise of Alamy.

I've had DLs on Alamy of images that also are on the micros as well as of the RM exclusive images.

Most of the sales are of images that are on both, although I have had sales on the Alamy only images too - a lot less sales from a lot less images.

Also keep in mind that sales on Alamy are not all high $ for you - especially if you get distributor sales. I think I am opted out of novel use though. The few big sales (>100$ for me) are very nice though.
