Title: Amazing!! they never learn, do they!
Post by: lagereek on November 09, 2010, 12:45
Yep!  the big four are beyond reach but the middle tier and the lower earner agencies would do well in following this Forum, what contributors and buyers say about searches, etc. Yet they keep on the same old thing, hoping for the best, series of almost identical shots plastering the first two pages and more, no people where there should be people, etc.
How can it be so freakin hard to simply mix up the content? at least on the first four or five pages in a search-engine, just to show a bit of variety, you know?

Who are doing, engineering these search-engines anyway?  some cut-prize wizard in the Casbah? or some kid off the street?
Some 90% of all agencies would do very well in investing some big cash in modifying their searches. I mean its only the very HEART of the business.

They have 20 million images, in a database indexed by nothing but the keywords supplied by the contributor.  For the first 10 million images, they accepted those keywords verbatim.

Now they're stuck.

Christian you're living under the romantic cloud that the agencies give a sh*t about buyers and contributors, whereas the apparent situation is that they don't seem at all bothered whether the client gets the best image for the job, just so long as they buy an image, that is all that seems to matter these days.
