Is there anyone with a bit of knowledge ... okay, rather specialised ... who can help me identify this plant?

I know it's Broomrape. But which species?

It was growing in western Switzerland, on limestone soil, under beech trees.

Any plant experts who can help?

I always ask sites with experts in botanics or zoology when I want to identify something.  They are generally very helpful.  There is also Dave's Garden, they have a forum for that, but I never succeeded having a reply.

I noticed the small Ivy leaf in the bottom right hand side of the picture and remembered that broomrapes are parasites and highly host specific, and that they rarely (if ever) parasitise plants from the oak family like beech.  This led me to the assumption that it is the Ivy-Broomrape or Orobanche hederae.  This is after all just an assumption but I feel a rather safe one.

Cheers!
