What other sites besides Istock are accepting audio???

Any info appreciated.

And how do you record it and submit it to the sites?

Do you just record onto the computer or some other way???

I only submit to IS so I'd be interested in any other GOOD sites. I don't feel like submitting and getting accepted with video, photos or audio and have no sales, is a good site. Storing files for their benefit, doesn't do anything for me.

I bought a used Zoom H4 (the older version) on eBay. It works, it record high quality and files seem to pass without much fussing. I use Audacity for editing. (freeware)

Before that I had a Sony MiniDisc recorder. Before that I had a Tascam high quality field cassette recorder, Tascam four channel simul-sync reel to reel. (ignoring another dozen or so recorders) I had and still have an Ampex 600 portable recorder, 1960s, that's in two small Samsonite suitcases, records monaural at 7 1/2 IPS and has tubes in it! That's old! LOL

Anyway, Zoom H4 for around $100 on eBay, if you watch. There are a number that have "works plugged in, no power from batteries" common problem. Seems the contacts go bad in the battery door? Most seem to be missing the wind screen, demo software, and the straps for the tripod mount. Rubber bands work. I squished a conventional foam mic windscreen over the two x-pattern mounted mics.

Built-in mics, XLR and hi-Z inputs. Dual electret condenser mics built in plus two XLR/1/4" combination jacks with 48-volt phantom power. A hi-Z input handles guitars and basses. Compressor, limiter, and mic modeler for stereo mode.

Records WAV 16-bit/44.1kHz PCM, (what I use) 24-bit PCM, and MP3 from 48kbps-320kbps. Uses SD cards, can be connected USB, but like the cameras, I just pop the card out, I'm in there for the batteries already?

Here's what's kind of poor design. It doesn't have a date function. Every file has the same date. It doesn't name anything unique so every time you clear the card and start new, it's the same names and dates as before. You'll need to rename all files as soon as you copy them from the recorder.

Almost all the functions are either on the little joystick or the jog controller on the side. For recording it's no problem, but for changing things, it's a bear sometimes to click here, wiggle there, push the jog control in. If it doesn't come with a manual, you will be printing one within the first five minutes you own it.  :D Not quite sure about some mics, but low impedance external and Hi-Z work fine with the base plugs, which are NOT balanced line three prong like you would expect. The H4n does that and has line in, for much more money. That's a minor issue.

There could be something better now, but for what I saw, and price, and for field recording CD quality, built in mics, inexpensive, and digital, the H4 meets my needs.

I have an 8 channel EWS88MT digital recorder on an old Dell, but haven't gotten around to the recording software. Basically a studio for digital recording using the computer hard drives for storage. Winter music project. ;)

Now about that other question. Where do audio files sell? I'd like to know. I'm just considering going exclusive with IS and the commission boost seems to make it worthwhile. For Audio Only
