Just to make sure, in the country where I live August 15th seems to be a holiday (no school, no work etc). Does it apply to other regions of the US and Europe ?
I am asking since the Monday started miserably. If tomorrow is a holiday, people may take the whole week off.

August 15 is National Day in South Korea, and Liberation Day in North Korea.

(I should imagine stock photos are included in sanctions, so perhaps little change there.)

In most of the catholic countries the 15th of august is holiday (Assumption Day).
Some countries add one day before and/or one day after.

It's a holiday in SOME countries but not in most. The biggest buyers (US, UK) do not have a day off.

Germany and France do, but hardly enough to make a massive dent in sales.

Maybe if you have lots of buyers in Togo and Vanuatu you will take a hit.

Germany and France, but also Italy, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Poland, Argentina
In France a lot of people take the holidays in August, and a lot of companies are closed or work with very reduced staff.
In Italy a lot of companies close the weeks around (before and after) "Ferragosto" (15th of August)
Other countries I cannot say.

Germans are frequent buyers, but according to my personal data, US buyers buy more than Europe combined (excluding the UK), and the UK is a big buyer too.

There is almost always a holiday somewhere, but I find that the US holidays are what can make sales dry up.

That could be your case but I have at most 10downloads/month from the US and even less from UK.

This is a big holiday for Christianity, not just Roman Catholic but for Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches and all Protestants too. Even so I don't think that I will have less downloads than on my usual 0 Saturdays. This will pass too.

Depends on your port, I guess.
On iS, the US is just over 1/4 of my sales; but I don't have much US content, so that makes sense.

In Italy there are hardly any companies left.
They moved all to Bulgaria, Romania, Malta, Austria or UK

The whole world doesn't revolve around just the U.S.  8)

No, but they buy more of everything than anyone else. They pay for digital goods. Music, pictures, video, movies, etc. etc. The US is #1 when it comes to spending money.

My personal stats from the last 5 years show that they buy more than the next 10 countries COMBINED. No one comes close. They bought 6 times as much as #2, the UK.

Agreed. A holiday in the US might have an impact on 50% of your sales. A holiday in France or Germany might impact 5% of your sales. I'm not saying you'll lose 50% of your sales if it's a holiday in the US, but you've got a much higher chance of feeling the impact of a holday there, then you have in somewhere else... even if the holiday effects multiple countries.

I think everyone can agree that the world doesn't revolve around the US (apart from the people that live there... they'd probably disagree! ;)), but as the biggest producer of content when it comes to video and print, the market for stock does kind of revolve around the US to an extent!
