This is some brilliant work formed around a simple inspirational idea.
I thought some of you portrait artists might fine it interesting.

Ahhhh.  I'd like to see images like these made for people in nursing homes, especially for those who can no longer communicate.  It would help to remind staff that this person was once their age and knows their own history.

Usually I don't like contrived, deliberately sentimental concept shots, but here the basic idea is so strong that the impact is undeniable.  For my taste these are a bit too perfect, processed and posed, but that's just me.  No one could look and not be moved.

When I see something like this, I kick myself and wonder why I didn't think of it ;)

Really, just beautiful work. Impressive and emotionally powerful.

Thanks so much for that link. It really puts life into perspective. Some day all of us will wish we could see our young selves in a mirror and remember what a joy it was to be young. I wish I could.

Brilliant! It reminds me of the quote of G.B.Shaw (I think) that said that youth is a much too precious asset to waste on young people.  ;)

This hit me pretty hard.  Looking through old pictures of myself; in uniform for my daughter -- in racing gear for my grandson.   :(

What super timing to see that great link you posted, Warren.

While talking with my daughters at hospital today, I reminded them how - when their grandma had been in hospital - I printed out a large photo of Mom as a 20-something opera singer, wrote her name under it, and then taped it on the wall over her hospital bed, to help staff see her not only as their elderly patient with limited ability to communicate, but also as the vibrant, beautiful young adult she had been.

I'm sad now.

Thank you for that idea. My grandmother will be in and out and I'm going to use it. Thank you more than I can say.

I am always shocked when i see photos of myself and realise I am old. In my minds eye I am still young. Darn -I guess I will have to start acting my age .
