Hi guys,

If you were marketing your best images (not your whole library) as exclusive to any one site, what would that site be.  Several offer extra pay for exclusivity on single images.  Which pays best for you?

I have some exclusive images on Fotolia and I like the ability to set prices there, to a certain extent. They have sold as well which is always good.

Fotolia is good for single image exclusivity!

I would have to toss a coin between Fotolia and Dreamstime. Both have their advantages.
I would like to say Featurepics, but I will wait and see what happens there in the next few weeks.

I would vote for Dreamstime. My Dreamstime exclusives did better than Fotolia.

Well, You may be right - there are 2 different buyers groups on that 2 sites... DT is more with American Buyers and FT is more with European buyers. Tastes of that two markets are different!

The point I was trying to make is this, if you have Level 2 or above images in DT, you get more money than in FT because the rank is tied up to the sales of this particular image. Besides, DT gives you more in percentage too. What ruins a good system is their sub sales which are the most I get these days. However, at least the sub sales still count as sales in ranking the image.

While in FT, your rank will go up much slower because it is tied to your entire portfolio. You get less on a per sale basis. Four sub sales are considered as one regular sale, which makes it more difficult to achieve a higher rank. Fortunately the sub sales are not as frequent as in DT.

So there are pros and cons in every site.

freedom more or less said it all. Fotolia is better only if you have a higher ranking. In the lower rank there is no increase in commission, thus no incentive really to want to tie up your image exclusively.

I have a couple of exclusive images at DT, but the subs make me angry.  I have one image I thought of having as exclusive at FT, and at least I would be able to have it outside subs (unless something changed).

Dreamstime - good for exclusive Editorials, which is what 2 of my top 5 DT images are
