Hi

No!

Always shoot color...if the designer wants it B&W, he / she will take care of it.

Sometimes when I have a series of different shots, I'll throw in some in B&W when it warrants it. They get accepted and get sold.
One of my top sellers in a B&W image of a couple's first dance at a wedding reception.

i adore B&W but i feel color is what buyers want.
then lately i see some monochromatic shots on the frontpage.
but if you observe it's shots that does nothing for color...
eg. i shot a lovely black and white cat in an outstanding pose. i was about to submit it in color until i saw at one of the sites a black and white of a black cat.
so i thought again, and submitted it in black and white.
why would anyone want a color shot of a black cat , or a black and white cat? LOL
so, really, it all depends. if your images are better in grey scales,
i would send it in B&W.

Hi
Thank you all for your help.
I tried a B+W image of a bike and it sold with in a hour ,but that was the only sale i have had with it so far and another 4 images of building which all have been accepted with the microsites so i will see what happens. ???
all the very best

Much of my stuff that I sell privately is B&W. I really enjoy working in mono, various shades ... I do have a few B&W's in the micros.... not big sellers at all, but they do sell. One of a wingback chair in my mother's Victorian living room moves quite a bit. And one close up of my daughter-in-laws pregnant belly seems to move.
Don't think anyone will be making big money in the micros with B&W. As someone mentioned, if an art director wants a B&W, they'll find a color image that suits them and convert it themselves. 8)=tom
