Title: Black Background vs White Background
Post by: tab62 on February 18, 2011, 14:20
Lately I've been shooting some of my stock with Black backgrounds- any words of caution since I've been told by a few of my friends that black really isn't accepted. The Black really brings out the colors...

Thanks.

I like black too, but in my (very limited) experience it doesn't sell.

I have no trouble getting images on black accepted, and it does make colors pop, but the white outsells it by a wide margin.

Designers can do a lot more with isolated on white images.

I sometimes offer one of each ... turquoise jewelry on white; turquoise on black.  Both seem to sell but Dreamstime will sometime reject one for being "too many similar."
