Just for fun, decided to do a "video nasty" image and have submitted "... blood spattered mutant zombie carrying severed head and machete..." to SS, DT, FT & 123. I expect rejections. See how well you know the sites and guess which ones will reject because of the subject matter :-\

If you can do that stuff, submit to Alamy pronto. I've got some pics I took during the making of Brad Pitt's zombie film in Glasgow, and 'zombie' seems to be a very frequently-searched term over there, no doubt reducing my AR to negativity.

Must have a look at Alamy - dunno how interested they would be in my stuff but might be a replacement for 123 in the new year.

Hmmm.....I did a very expensive "zombie" themed shoot a few months ago and am not getting any views....or hits on the search term zombie. Bummer.

Really? I've had 26 since 1st August, only 5 specifying RM, between zombie, zombies, 'zombie film' on three files with that keyword (two from the filmset on a public street and one of a boy dressed as Zombies versus Plants. My Alamy Rank is well below average.
Are you sure you've got 'zombie' in the keywords? (I discovered this week I'd missed the most important word on 12 out of 15 of a series I'd submitted.) If you're not even getting views, it can't be just that what you have doesn't match what they want. One of the searches on zombie had 6 'sessions' (probably equating to unique searches) with a total of 2722 files searched between the 6. Zombie (RM) had 2 'sessions' where a total of 2961 files were searched between the two. (I have no idea if any searches on Zombie (RF) were made, as that wouldn't show up on my measures.

LOL - I'm positive. It's a ranking issue on my end....In fact, out of 145 images specific to my "zombie topic"....I have 82 of the images (zombie being the first keyword).
The keyword "zombie" yields 3,824 results. With listing 120 results per page, I start on page 20 of 32.
These images were shot and uploaded 4 months ago...per Alamy's terms, they should be ranked middle of the road to start (for the first 120 days)....I'm finding that lately, their ranking system is a bit off. It appears buyers aren't going past page 19 LOL

AIUI, Alamy Rank doesn't go to an individual image but to each contributor, so if you're low on the AR, the only thing you can do is hope to find some sort of unfilled niche that buyers are interested in, then these files will rise your whole port.
Oh, but if you only started contributing to Alamy recently, your rank should be average, I'm not sure if that's what you meant.
The problem with the is that if someone with a good rank is a spammer, their files come up highly in irrelevant searches.
The official way to game the system is to use pseudonyms in one or more of several ways. Each new pseud is supposed to start off with a neutral ranking.
(Yup, it seems crazy to use a flawed system and provide an official way of gaming it, but there it is.)
Word (one the forums) also is that having a lot of images with very similar keywords hurts your Ranking. So much for having a niche.
I haven't taken to pseuds yet, but may do so.

AIUI, Alamy Rank doesn't go to an individual image but to each contributor,
New images and new pseudonyms are given a median rank (equivalent to views) for the first 6 months (this gives new contributors a chance amongst those with high historic rankings). Sales rank heavier than views...and views don't follow when you change pseudonyms to prevent abuse...at least that's the way it used to be
I'm not worried about it as the ranking system will be given a revamp soon based on the recent Alamy blog posts. Things all work out with time on Alamy (albeit it can take a VERY long time).
