Someone bought all my Christmas vector images.
As I am comparatively new I was wondering is it normal ?

No, and pray that it isn't fraud. You might have gotten lucky but don't celebrate yet...

It depends of how many Christmas vectors do you have, since you have said you are new. If you have 10-15 this kind of vectors, then it is possible to be found from someone who just liked your style. If you have many, then it is possible to be a fraud. Search your images with google images to see if they aren't sold or given for free on other sites.

Not that many compared to the big portfolios. They are 16 files, but literally all of the Christmas images bought at once for the lowest price of course. There are some that are similar too.

Mir, I am 100% sure that there is a buyer who is using the downloaded file at illegal websites.
I have also faced same issue and posted here.

Given the facts, now I am also 100% sure your images are stolen. Try in a day or two, to search them on the internet.

I have also encountered this problem and I have decided to not upload anymore vectors (if the image is too complicated, of course), only the image. I am selling less, but at least I know they will never have my vectors. Better sell less, than to sell one time and after that to see my work spread for free on the internet.
It happen to me too many times and I don't want this anymore.

I've tried searching my images on google, for now I can't find anything, I will try again in a few days.
This happened on fotolia, not on shutterstock although I guess it doesn't matter on which site.

Artist, I've now read that thread, what did you do about your stolen images ?

Only 16 images isn't enough to conclude it's 100% fraud.  Yes, its possible, but way too soon to go jumping to conclusions.  Ive had more than that bought legitimately in a series many times.

First thing is contact the agency.  They can verify if it is a known customer and if this fits that customers buying pattern.  That is often the case and you can then relax and enjoy the income.

i am sure yuri and sjolocke, etc had many sales from the same buyer, many times.
it does not mean someone is out to steal your work. maybe so, but i would not worry too much
as this is microstock. lots of ppl see microstock as a cheap way to get images,
and for now, conisder yourself lucky you found someone who likes your style.

if you assume it is a thief, and if it is an admirer, you kill yourself but stopping to upload more work.

i see it this way,... if you can do sellable stuff, it can't be difficult for you to make more.
the thief can only steal what you create, and nothing more.

what if otoh, it is in fact as pixelbytes say, someone who likes your style.
they see you as a one trick pony, and stop checking in to see if you have more to buy.
it's your call,  .. i would just like it so long as i see my earnings keep going up.

Regardless if it is theft or not, it is out of your control. Why spend time worrying about things you can't control? If it was theft, they were going to steal either your images or someone else's. If a potential customer was too cheap to buy stock for money and wanted free stuff, they were going to get free stuff, regardless if it is your stolen free stuff, or someone else's stolen free stuff. Then there are the customers who are willing to pay for stock, and they are looking for more stuff to download. It can be yours or it can be someone else's. If you upload no more, then they have no ability to download any future illustrations you might contribute.

Money is money, earn it anyway you can. That's is my perspective. Though I'm sure some others will disagree with me. No point missing out on sales because your files might get stolen. It isn't possible to stop theft, just learn to accept it as part of doing business.

Maybe he's just been around the biz longer than most and has more useful info to share.

I don't plan to stop uploading.
I just wanted to hear other opinions on this because I had a bad feeling about it.
You all have good points.

Same happened with fotolia too. I complained about it but nothing worked. The same scenario still goes.
