Title: Camera & Equipment Insurance Questions
Post by: tab62 on July 19, 2012, 10:42
Hi MSG Folks,

I understand how the home owner insurance works if your house is robbed but what about someone robbing you while outdoors? Recently, a guy was taking pics of the Seattle Skyline at a local park (Kerry Park) was was robbed of all his equipment at knife point! What type of insurance is there for this type of crime? Also what if you leave your stuff in your car and it gets stolen? Lot's of insurance questions...

Thanks.

I have insurance through my homeowners that covers instances just like that or even if it gets lost or broken.

But if you are shooting for a living as a business there are other camera insurance companies you will need to use.

But if someone comes after my equipment with a knife they will be in trouble because they will meet my Glock 10mm!

LOL on the Glock 10mm! I have a Glock model 23 .40 cal with 3,000 degree heat rounds (incinerators) as my personal protection. The problem is that I like to travel and places like China probably would not appreciate my personal protection...
